The new Rivian look sucks, but my 4yr old loves it.

It’s unrefined, phat and pointless. The vent placement recall makes no sense, the driver screen is still useless. Why do I need to see a car that’s right in front of me on the screen. The Chevy Bolt has better information for 1/3 the cost, not that I’m going to buy a Bolt.

In any case, I am glad Rivian is using an industry standard high performance realtime rendering engine.

Using an inferior technology to simply to ensure people do not view them as “trying to appeal to gamers” would be idiotic. Use the right tool for the job.

Completely, totally, utterly, unequivocally disagree. Perhaps your four year old has something to teach you?

And by the way, because you don’t like it doesn’t mean that it sucks. It means that you don’t like it. Neither your opinion nor mine define reality for anyone else.

I don't like the new look and yet, it doesn't bother me at all.
What does bother me is spending time and effort (money) on redesign interface elements that works well (some great and some les) instead of creating NEW features like the turn video.
For example, I would like to see the drive screen identify vehicles that are slightly behind and in the next lane. Also, moving time and outside temp to the drive screen would improve safety etc. Great design can be developed that will put Rivian above the rest only if a coherent vision can be provided for the engineers

I’m kinda indifferent to the design but what does annoy me is when a change is applied that changes what you have to do, when you’ve been trained to know where things are and where to find your information.

i still haven’t gotten the update for the Rivian so I’m not sure if that’s the case here or not, but I did just get an update with the Tesla and the layout changed and now I’m hunting for information that used to be at a glance.

I’ll eventually learn the new layout but I do hate it when that happens.

Just had to rant a little and I’m not on Tesla forums ;)

I don’t mind the cartoon imagery. I just wish the powers that be at Rivian could spend and extra three minutes to put the odometer on the driver screen.

Rather than an odometer, I’d prefer a mileage warranty countdown. At this point, my warranty has saved me 10’s of thousands of dollars ?
