I’ve tried resetting, logging in again and such. Still not working. I think it has to do with the LTE connection; it works fine over wifi. It’s weird because it just started happening days ago.

Maybe ATT accidentally blocked a port that the Apple Music app uses?

My gen1 R1S has been on 2025.14.01 for several weeks and I didn’t have any problems with AM... until today. Now it shits the bed every time I try to play anything. Logging out and back in didn’t fix the fuckery, nor did soft and hard resets.

I've been dealing with this the past few days. A soft and hard reset doesn't totally fix it. I signed out of Apple and then could not sign back in until I connected to Wi-Fi at home. What I did notice is the issue starts when I try to skip a song. If I am connected at home, fire up a playlist and drive away I have no problem continuing to listen until I skip a song. Once I do, it just doesn't work and won't work again until connected back to Wi-Fi. Interestingly I found that if you skip backwards the previous songs will load, but it will error out an exactly where you skipped the song the original time. Literally up until Saturday I had not experienced this issue other than every now and then and usually a reset or log out and in worked just fine. It is very unstable right now though.
100% great summary of issues. Agree with all the points here. Only during skips, and only started on Saturday.

Apple Music and general LTE connectivity has been total crap these past couple days. It wasn’t like that earlier when I installed the latest software.

With all the issues people have been having with Apple Music, I have been dodging the bullet, until today. Today, I get nothing but a request to log back into my Apple Music account. When I do that, my R1T doesn’t recognize my account. Tried it a bunch of times. Tried a soft reset a couple of times. Tried a hard reset once. All with no luck. When I went to drive away, both displays were pretty dim. That was odd. Never had that happen. I went in and upped the brightness setting, but it seems oddly coincidental to AM issue.

Seems like a lot of people are suddenly having a lot of weird issues, not just related to Apple Music. Rivian is messing around with something. As much as the upcoming software update sounds very intriguing, I’m probably not going to be rushing to install it.

Apple Music is a joke on my R1S. Works maybe 10% of the time, the layout is bad, very limited functionality. Have a service request in but I don’t think they care about making it work.

Same here Apple Music issues since Saturday and issue was with both Apple and Spotify. Soft reset and Spotify is working beautifully, however Apple (where I have a subscription) remains an issue. At the risk of being berated on this forum it wouldn't be an issue if there were Apple Car Play 😬😅

Yep mine started around Saturday and had the same issues. It stops and restarts itself. Most things I click on won't play.. It's totally borked again. I would say it's only worked properly about 50% of the time on my truck. There was a good month between software updates when it didn't work at all for me.

This one is just as much on AT&t as it is on rivian.

AT&T has been doing "Network upgrades" recently that I just as much a downgrade as anything else. During high traffic times like Rush hour near my home, AT&T service just ceases to function. They heavily prioritize phones over vehicles which is already a problem. I have a friend with AT&T service on his phone and often times even his phone will be unable to load anything at all during these high congestion times.

Then combine that with the rather cludgy implementation of Apple music on rivian and it just makes for a complete disaster. They have has issues with Apple music in the past where it would just hang on loading. So the "solution" to that is a hard time out on loading. If the song takes more than 15 seconds to load it will just immediately reset the Apple music application. Apple music does tend to consume a lot more data with the higher quality audio. So combine that with nearly non existent AT&T coverage and it's bound to fail

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Hard reset fixed it for a day, then poof. Resets, logging in and out, priest-assisted exorcism, some begging, and even rain dance - nada

Get your SW sh&t together RIvian.

Signed,
A very loyal customer who is tired of aforementioned sh&t

I have had issues with both Apple Music and Sirius both "connectivity issues" Sirius seems to be more affected than Apple Music> ChatGpt thinks it is a modem provision issue. It thinks Sirius is more affected as when the modem fails it doesn't reping the modem as frequently as Apple Music does. Sometimes a soft reset fixes the problem sometimes not. Chatgpt had me turn on Wi-fi and use my iPhone as a remote hot spot. This allowed Apple Music and Sirius to connect through my phone , than when I switched off wifi the apps were able to connect back to LTE. Presumably the modem is now working intermittently do to some bug in provisioning and by switching between wifi and back to the modem intriguers the apps to retry the modem ? The problem started Saturday for me.

Apple music has been extra temperamental over the last few days.

I wouldn't mind it as much if Rivian gave me what I actually want, which is a way to play the music I already own without relying on one of these dumb streaming services. The bluetooth player leaves a lot to be desired.
