With mine upside down, the center point of the weld is 3.5 inches from the bumper. So there there would be about 2.5" between the rear most point of the bumper and a 2 inch ball.

Mine is a 4-in drop. It is not actually reversible since the ball is welded to the frame. I don't know off the top of my head if they make a 6-inch rise version, but if they did and it used the same angles there would be even more clearance.
They do but it has a reinforcement fin.....which then hits the bumper (that is what I have)

Lot of fancy hitches here. I don't know what I am doing correctly, but I am using a 6" hitch I have used for at least 25 years on a 4Runner and Tacoma and now my R1T. Probably bought at WalMart. No problems, it all fits, I have pulled trailers and boats no issues.

What I have found is that the hitch pin location in the R1T is much closer to the end of the receiver than with the Toyotas. I would have to get on the ground to install the pin in Toyotas while I can do it standing up with the R1T.

Now if I only did not need to get on my back to remove the bumper plate to get at the hitch....

Im sure it’s fine, but with my experience with Harbor Freight products, I personally wouldn’t trust their trailer hitch. That’s where I wouldn’t skimp and try and save a few dollars. Just my opinion.

I don't feel like I skimped on it, but you are allowed your opinion and experiences.

The hitch fit my needs, was available in town opposed to waiting for something to fit, and wasn't unreasonably expensive. It exceeds the weight rating of the trailer I tow by nearly 3k lbs - and I anticipate that I won't need that extra capability for a long time (any newer trailer I might tow is still not gonna exceed that rating).

I would think aluminum would last longer than steel since it won't rust.

But if you are worried about aluminum, one of these might work out for you. They have the support fin, but with the extra length that might not be a problem.

That is the one I already have if you look at the 2nd or 3rd picture, that stupid fin doesn't clear the bumper when angled upwards. Thanks though!

Which length do you have? (Not height).

9" (standard), 12" or 14"?

I have a hard time imagining how the fin gets in the way when it is 5 in longer than standard.

If possible, would you mind sharing a photo of that clamp in-place? I'm really curious to see how good the fit is... Thanks!
Ooof, I need to clean my ball! Finally remembered to take a photo. Sorry for the wait.
