Gonna be a few weeks before we get and install, only been a few beta testers so far. But he does show the placement in his install video.

On the website Alex now shows shipping expected in August. He's clearly getting closer with more videos posted. Thank you @Gurule92 for posting that!

After watching the install video I have a question...

@EV Play - Alex : You've said that the EVPlay unit has multiple ports...I'm wondering if I want to attach a cable for any reason before I tuck into position and resecure the plate. Can you describe what ports are there (i.e. USB-C if I wanted to go wired rather than wireless to my phone) or Mini-HDMI if there are times when I'd want an external monitor (running, for example, to the second row).
Correction on this, shipping for the current batch is starting Monday. The next batch won't ship until end of August +/-.

I don't think it would hurt to attach a USB A-C cable for charging or ? No external HDMI, but, plan on selling a compatible USB to HDMI adapter for those that want to input a laptop, Steam Deck, etc.

Can we switch to a subscription model after a year if we initially choose the non subscription option when we order? I'm just undecided. Also, if we choose the subscription option, does it auto renew?

Can't answer the first part, but yes, when you select subscription, it creates it during the purchase of the unit. 1st month is free but I think it will purchase the 1 year subscription after a month.

You can't, but, most/all of the features will be offered as an a la carte option, should there be some things you want to add later down the line. Yes, it auto-renews.

Soooooo, when will we know if we're in the Monday batch?
On Tuesday I emailed 95% of the pre-order customers based on the number of units I had built in this first batch, holding a few units back for lost/damage shipments. Most customers have converted, but I have not heard from some. I'm going to email them again this morning, and give them another few days to reach out. I'll then go down the list and continue to do so until I have the first batch accounted for.

Email isn't the most reliable and messages can go to SPAM folders. The crazy thing is that my email service is showing a 100% open rate. The actual clicks are higher, which means people are forwarding it (thank you!).

I would hate to skip over someone because they didn't get the notifications. I'll probably do a few posts as a last ditch effort, but eventually I need to move on. Either way, I'll rollover those deposits to the next batch (end of August), unless I hear otherwise.

Stripe was being a bit wonky with receipts so apologies if you don't receive an email confirmation. I have been slowly re-sending confirmations but there is no option to do it in bulk.

I converted to the subscription but had a question about the support terms. It said something like subscription users would get 18 months of support (vs 12 months for non subscription users). When does the 18 months start counting? I would have assumed that support would continue for the entire duration of the subscription, so that if I renewed for another year I would get another year of support (24 months in this example). What am I missing?
