I'm sure it will.

When you ready to install the mount, make sure you use 3m adhesive promotor . It is working so far and not coming off the tinted windshield

Perfect. Thanks for the feedback. Did you also clean using 40%-50% rubbing alcohol to clean the tint/window.

I am using the stock Lukas mount and did not use a promoter. I simply cleaned the tint 3 times and let it cure for 24 hours. I haven't touched it or removed the unit. I don't plan to do anything with the stock mount until I get the Beartech device mount.

Maybe the 3m on the stock mount is stronger? Although, it looks just like the 3m on the beartech. I use the alcohol wipes that comes with the package. At first, i didn't use the 3m adhesive promotor and it didn't hold the comma (I even cured it for 3 days)

So far, for with the adhesive promotor, It held up for 3 days now and I only cured it for 1 day. I used it on the 8 degree wedge as well. Make sure you wipe the promotor on the windshield and not the sponge. The promotor is not glue, so you can wipe it off later. Wait about 20 to 30 seconds before attach the mount on the windshield after apply the promotor.

Thanks for the extra information about the promoter.

The tint shop I used will help me remove the stock Lukas mount and we will try the tape method along with your feedback to try to mount the Comma back in place using Beartech Magenetic mount. Your setup looks very clean and one that I plan to replicate once Beartech releases their new product.

I bought some tools to help with VHB removal when the time comes to take it off at the tint shop.

Question for the experts out there. I found a good deal on a Comma 3 not 3X. Will the 3 work with the Lukas upgrade or even basic open pilot
They use different MCUs, STM32F413 for the 3 vs the STM32H7 for the 3x, enabling CAN FD support in the 3x. All the the other stuff is basically the same, but the reduced CAN support may be an issue. The 3x isn't all that expensive, so I'd stick with it.

Totally agreed. Using the C3X with the Rivian poses enough challenges on its own, I don't know if I'd want to compound that by using a C3.

Thanks for replies. Thanks @gerrylum for all resources and information you have provided. I already ordered the harness and upgrade from Lukas. Just waiting to see if there is sale on the C3X on Labor Day.

@gerrylum or any other experts out there, would you be able to help guide me on which software you’d recommend for someone with Lukas upgrade? Supposed to be getting harness and comma in the next week and would like to be ready to go but I’m still confused which software I should run. I’m on the comma and xnor discord chats and it seems like different versions are being recommended between those two chats. Excited to join the fun. Great videos and tutorials btw Gerry.

Use sunnypilot/staging-c3-new for software and Space Lab 3 for the driving model.

Thank you for the info but It sounded there was a fix needed for sunnypilot but I might be mistaken.

It looks like a new build of staging-c3-new was completed about 30 minutes ago so it should be good to go.

Thanks Gerry. You guys weren’t kidding about things changing rapidly with Comma.

So I just tried installing staging-c3-new and it looks like it still doesn't work with the long upgrade. Best to stick with sunnypilot/rivian-long-upgrade-fix-prebuiit for now.

Thanks for checking Gerry. Just to confirm. Installing with the low voltage message is okay?

Absolutely! It just says that because it expects to see 12v from the car. But it will work fine.
