Wonder what was needed from Rivian to make that happen -recall clearance letter? DRL activation? labeling changes?
Too much of a risk right now for me to import it without any service centres close by. When it’s a luxury plaything like this guys he can afford it.

Access to service in Alberta is probably as good as it is in wherever their vacation spot is in Montana, so there’s that ?

….also the RIV process is a pain in the ass and I wouldn’t want canadian Tire touching my brand new electrotruck. And no max pack, no sale.

At least they seem to be hiring Service Rangers (like Tesla in the beginning and Polestar) for Western Canada. Polestar usually flies techs to Calgary and Edmonton every few months for customers.

As long as they have a solid mobile service setup it’ll be fine. Tesla, until very recently, didn’t have a shop space. Mobile service only. It’s been the same guy for at least the last five years. And he covered Saskatchewan and northwestern Ontario too. they now rent a bay in a warehouse.

It would be nice if Rivian releases the iOS app in Canada (they pulled it a couple years back) and that would be a good indication of progress for Canadian deliveries.

They pulled it last year some time. I downloaded it before it went away.

it really does nothing without a vehicle connected.

I'm sure it doesn't but having it back on the App store may mean the deliveries may start at some point this year. Can't complete the 8-step process without the app. Outside of checking the stupid website daily I'm also keeping an eye out for the app. Giving me anxiety - lol.

Yeah we'd likely get communication about Canadian deliveries way before we see an app pop up. Change a country that an already published app is available in doesn't take more than a day or two to reflect in the app stores.

The leading indicator would be if folks that already have the app installed start seeing french as a language option

Not anymore, they’ve partnered up with Eastside Collision on Marion, Eastside is handling the bodywork and there are two techs with their own bay.

Since when? Last time we dealt with Tesla service was end of July, and it was out of a warehouse on Lagimodiere.

I know Eastside is the certified body shop, and they were doing mechanical work out of there before.

I had the X serviced there on 16 August, they told me they moved in around the first week of August.
