I’m a 1H 2023 for a LE R1S in Montreal… I think if I do get an update by the end of October, it will be to show another 3 month slip….would find it hard to believe any other service center besides Vancouver would be up and running and have sufficient volumes to deliver before next fall – if Rivian cannot send enough units up here, they won’t want to support 3-4 centers off the bat.

Cant wait to see the Volvo EX90 reveal in a few weeks… they might start deliveries here before Rivian at this rate.

Did anyone receive any word on Oct 16?

The update is coming by end of Oct. The Oct 16 date was that any delivery window you get (by end of Oct) will be based on the configuration you had as of Oct 16.

For what it's worth, I contacted Rivian last week after receiving the email sent to Canadian customers.

Prior to somewhat finalizing my configuration by October 16th, I enquired as to the expected production start of the max-pack R1Ts in case I wanted to change my mind.

This is their response:
That's a great question, currently R1T max packs are expected to begin production sometime in 2023. We'll be sure to let you know via email once we have an update. If you would like a sooner delivery, I would go with the large battery pack.

Given that it's already been close to a four year wait, I've opted to keep my max-pack configuration.

I'm in a similar boat. I really want an R1S but if the EX90 sings the right notes, I may explore that more seriously.

That said, I go think much like other elements of the cars themselves I think Rivian will batch produce and ship cars up here.

I also think they’re run out the Canadian trucks as a batch, the ones due next year anyway. A token number delivered this year to get service going. Based on the category they’re classified under with transport canada, their Canadian volume is very small.

Jan-Dec 2024 and I switched from Max pack to large in March. What the fuck…

Original order in Dec 2021. Original delivery estimate 2nd half 2023. New estimate just showed in account as Jan - Dec 2024.

Jan is fine but Dec isn’t. 12 mont window is just too vague. Don’t really want to give this up. Maybe the longer delivery means I can get updated powered cover and maybe other minor tweaks/updates. Who knows?

Anyone know whether there might be opportunity to inspect vehicle in upcoming Vancouver service centre?

Jan-Dec 2024 and I switched from Max pack to large in March. What the fuck…

That doesn't sound right. My email:

R1T Quad-Motor + Max pack deliveries are now planned to start in 2024.
We plan to share more news on Max pack later this year, including an earlier launch for Dual-Motor + Max pack with deliveries starting in Summer 2023. For the opportunity to take delivery even sooner – in some instances as early as Q1 2023 – you can also reconfigure to Large pack.

Mine has been pushed from this Dec-Jan, to April-June of 23. Adventure, regular pack. I still had the powered tonneau selected and I'm curious if that is the cause for the delay.

I changed the configuration to the manual cover just now. The email states that after making changes to your build your delivery will be updated every three months. If the tonneau is the culprit, I could be waiting three months to find out if I could have had my truck in two months.

In the same boat but I was originally max pack, just changed it to large pack after the estimates came out, hopefully I’m around then as well.

Mine is now Jan-Feb 2023. No changes to my order except for switching to the Manual tonneau cover after the announcement. Was originally Dec-Jan, so a month push isn't too bad.
