Charging options in Escalante, UT?

I was hoping someone knew of a place to charge my R1T in Escalante, Ut. I know there is a Tesla charger on Beaver, UT, a little over 100 miles away. Let me know.

There are two Tesla L2 chargers in Escalante. One is at the Entrada Lodge and the other is at Canyon Canyon Inn. There are also Tesla L2 chargers at Byrce Canyon.

Do you know if either motel allows them to be reserved in advance? I've been itching to do Hole-in-the-Rock again but am a little concerned about not having enough battery left after exiting to get back to civilization.

Call Entrada and ask. They may be more accommodating.

I would also check out Ofland RV park and cabins. We have used a car camping spot (each has a 14-50 socket you can use the mobile charger with). They have cabins and you can get access to one or two 14-50’s for guest parking. Staying@ Boulder mountain lodge up the road (and/or eat at Hell’s backbone restaurant) - they have 4 Tesla charger I believe. Canyon Country Lodge is great and they have 3 tesla and 1 non-tesla I believe. Nice place but don’t take dogs so we have used the Ofland the last two times and Boulder mountain lodge a few times.

If you stay at theoldbaileyplace.com in Escalante you get the Rivian rate and can use our L2 overnight and pay 5.5 cents per kilowatt.

Just to be clear, the two Tesla chargers (plus it looks like one J1772 at each location) are L2 chargers, not Tesla Superchargers like Beaver.

If you’re not limited to Tesla for Level 3 charging, and depending where you’re coming from, there is also Electrify America in Beaver, Cedar City, and St. george. I use the EA in Cedar whenever I grocery shop there, and they are an inconsistent mess but I’ve never *not* been able to charge if I wanted.

Otherwise the L2 options listed above by others in Escalante directly are vital choices.

If you are referring to a NACS -> CCS adapter, then NO - this is only suitable for DCFC.

You will need a NACS -> J17772 adapter for L2 charging.

If you are charging from a charger other than a TESLA, you don't need an adapter....you just take the plug from the station and plug it in. All EV's that are not TESLA's are J1772 and CCS1. You only need the NACS adapter if you are using a Tesla charging station.
