I have my R1T set to stop charging at 285 miles and for some reason it stops around 230 Anyone know why that is happening.

Undercharged in America...maybe times are changin. :CWL: Joking aside, the latest update really screwed up the charging percentage, etc. I can set 70...it will be at 68 and stop....I have to put it to 75% to keep going.

It stops at a percentage, not a mileage. Mileage stated in the app depends on what drive mode your vehicle currently has selected.

You charge to a percentage, not number of miles.
Estimated miles also changes based on mode settings, conserve=more, sport = less miles.

As others wrote, the percentage is what really counts. Beyond that, do you have a charging schedule set?
If so, it may be that the charging stopped at the end of the charging window even though the vehicle didn’t reach the target percentage.

Is it set to 88% according to the truck? Could be that the value somehow didn't get set in the truck but still displays in the app.

Do you maybe have it set to charge only during certain times, and it's running out of time?

Have you tried doing a reset of the vehicle?

Are you in Texas? Is it too hot?

Are you charging at home, or at a charging station? What brand charger?

When did the problem begin?

What information is displayed when you look on the charging screen in the vehicle, or in the app?

I mean, we're basically just guessing based on the limited information provided in this thread. Not directed at you personally, but as someone who works in troubleshooting it drives me batty when you have to fish for information. Help us help you. Or just call Rivian, LOL. ??

Try setting it to a different value, unplug and plug back in. I've noticed that there is probably a bug in the charging stuff that can cause it to get stuck at "complete" even though it isn't anywhere near what it is supposed to be, where it refuses to re-initiate charging until the plug is cycled out and back in.

Is this consistent, or a one-off thing?

Has anyone come up with a solution, or determined a cause?
I had the charge limit set to 70%, charging at 30 amps. It stopped charging at 61%, but immediately restarted when I unplugged, then plugged back in.
I don't think this is a thermal issue at the EVSE or in the car. The charging cable was only slightly warm, and the garage temp was in the low 70s.

I think it’s the latest update that has caused this issue. I almost every day come out to a different percentage and mine is set to 90%.

Happened at least 2 releases back. Wassym has already acknowledged it as a problem they are working to fix on my Reddit thread on the issue:

That’s interesting as it didn’t happen for me until the current one. What has happened for me is coming out to a dead truck a lot more often than I would like. But switching to an Ohmmu battery has made it much easier to recover.
