I think it has more to do with people’s general inability to pay attention to details.
Or we have better things to do than nitpick minor stuff that doesn't really matter. Sure some people have legit issues but some of the complaints on here are beyond childish and petty.

Would they let you exchange the vehicle or go back to the shop once you took delivery or the only option is to return it or flip it?
They will only replace it if you have mechanical issues (not cosmetic). There’s no going back in line once returned for cosmetic reasons.
There’s no conversation possible (despite a great guide) and a high level of uncertainty when it comes to them being able to fix/correct the issues.

Personally I have a suspicion that RIVN stock ,with 78 mil shares short , adds to the volume of complaints as well.

I haven't really paid attention. Probably better then sport and less than All purpose. I wish you could see the "m/kw" on the screen or our app

Oh yeah. Hedge fund douche bros love coming on here and shitting on Rivian right before the end of a quarter. They are criminals who are not above outright lying to manipulate a stock price.

In my wholly unscientific observation, it seems there's more inconsistency in the R1S than the R1Ts...I wonder if Rivian just hasn't dialed in the S yet...
As I was scrolling through the comments I was hoping for a comment like yours. I belong to a couple of Rivian FB groups and most (I mean 9 out of 10) complaints/observations about the fit and finish, it is always the R1S. A fellow Rivian owner close to me said that when they picked theirs up, they couldn't get it to connect to the app and there were some fit-and-finish issues. We got the R1T and other than "headlight system not working" message and it is in the shop for the last 2 weeks, we are happy with it. As my wife said, "I would rather they take 3, 4, or 5 weeks to get it right instead of it happening again and again". They did give us a LE R1T as a loaner.....I do notice that it rides rougher than ours.....I chalk it up to being a loaner and having 50k miles on it and being driven by countless people.

I would push for the compressor to be replaced. 99% sure sound level will correct itself with new compressor as it is a high rpm sound. Guessing the original manufacturer of the compressor may have improperly filled oil level. Example if you replace a compressor on any ICE vehicle you have to verify if you the installer need to fill with refrigerant oil or if the manufacturer has prefilled it.

That Isn't the same thing as Rivian owners complaining of problems. Those 78 mil shares are probably controlled by less than a handful of people, and their short selling is not the result of defects in the vehicles. It is the result of wanting to make $. So they add nothing to the "volume of complaints" in my opinion.

I think the point is that, there are people on here that ONLY trash Rivians. Never a good thing to say. Yet they've been on here for quite a long time, and have hundreds of comments. So do they really have a Rivian, or are they trying to impact customer perceptions. I lean towards the latter explanation. Impacting customer perception CAN impact sales and hence stock price. I worked on Wall Street a long time. THere's nothing I wouldn't put past some of those traders....

You have 20" AT tires... they don't typically yield great handling.
The 20” ATs handle just fine in the stiff/lowest setting compared to most non-sporty vehicles. 21s are probably the sweet spot so it just comes down to how you plan on using the truck and understanding the settings.
