EA charging issue since latest software update

Hi everyone!

I'm stuck @ Walmart in Madisonville, TX since my r1t is not connecting with any of the chargers. Never happened before. I see all other cars connecting and charging just fine.

Rivian charging support has high traffic (been holding for 40min now). I already hard reset my r1t 2x. Anyone aware of any charging issues since the latest software update?

I have not had any issues, currently traveling cross country.

Its not convenient but if you can lock the car and walk away for 15-30 min to let it do a sleep cycle.

Did you try using different methods to pay? I have often had ea app fail to start, but ea card in Apple wallet with iPhone, or regular credit card worked.

I feel like there were a few threads on this recently? No idea if they got it sorted, but maybe something useful here? Have you tried calling EA? What exactly is the error you're getting?

I can't get the EA app to initiate a payment to save my life.

I can however, use EA in my Apple Wallet very consistently.

Looks like it is over 100 degrees there now. What cars are working? I saw this out by Palm Springs at one station where Ioniq 5s were charging but they are 800 volt, the 400 volt sessions would not start or start and stop after a minute or 2 but the temperature was closer to 118.

Is it trying to start and turning red? Have you tried calling EA support to see if they can start it on their side?

Called them, they restarted couple chargers for me, remotely sent charging start, etc. Tried it multiple chargers. Mach E, Benz, Chevy EV's are charging just fine and leaving...

I'm trying the deep cycle suggestion from above right now. Still waiting for rivian response. 1hr now

No but if you have any charge left it appears they just opened a rivian adventure charger in Centerville.

I was at a station in Pensacola FL where a R1S couldn’t start via card/tap but I did through app. Might try opposite of whatever you tried first, or what’s working for the other EVs. Just a thought -

Glad to help. The hard reset doesn’t actually reset everything anymore unfortunately.

Is anyone aware of any thread or consolidated document where such problems & troubleshooting steps documented? It can be a life saver, especially in middle of road trips.

Sad unfortunately. Most likely due to users hard resetting at every possible error.
