We don't know that they are fully addressable. What we do know, is that Gen 1 aren't fully RGB...

I am thinking they are addressable on the Gen1's becuase they have white and they go to green. I wouldn''t expect that Rivian would put a green strip in and a white strip, or a green filter over a white strip. That would tell me they are addressable some how.

I play around with LED's and arduinos and with a little coding, I can make the strips have different patterns and use a pushbutton to change the patterns.

My prediction.... If you have subscribed to Connect + by October 15th, Halloween mode will enable before those that have not. I am half kidding, but would not be surprised.

I'm hoping we G1 folks at least get something on the instrument cluster and/or the main screen. Honestly - that's what I see anyways when driving, so I'd be fine with that. If I could get the Back to the Future instrument cluster - I'd be a happy kid adult.

That's all software anyway, so doesn't feel like it should be bifurcated between the Generations.

Gen 1 light bar is not segmented. The whole thing can light and change color, but not sections of it individually. Gen 2 is closer to original concept shown in '18, where the segmented light bar can light sequentially to display charge % during charging. Gen 2 can also use this to sequential capability for other uses, like direct traffic in either direction, in addition to hazard flashers.

Yes, addressable to some extent (likely segmented), as evidenced by the lock/unlock animation. We don't know the full extent of the addressability, however.

Yes, it can - watch the lock/unlock animation. There are addressable segments; we just don't know the granularity of that addressability.

Not gonna happen. Hardware differences isn't limited to light bar itself. Plus, Service Centers are already overcapacity.

Halloween mode is fun but alot more fun would be Apple Music just working the way it should...I will take that over Halloween mode all day long.

Am I the only one that prefers a KIt interface over Back to the Future on the screens? Would be a hoot to be able to interact with Kit. It should already know our names.

That directing traffic feature is pretty cool. I played with it during my test drive.

Hear me out....

Anyone else willing to wait 44 seconds for the truck to unlock with a Batman (1989) opening theme played of the PWS outside the truck but low end range is handled by the subwoofer in the truck, then when the batman logo turns up (44 second mark on the video) the mirrors unfold and the lights turn on from the centre outward, same as currently, but just far more epic with the music attached.

Ive been trying to find bat signal filters for the puddle lights but no real luck.

My (adult) autistic son , who does the cooking on "Mexican Night" (he refuses to call it Taco Tuesday, shrug) heard the audio playing in the other end of the kitchen over the frying of ground beef and yelled out "Batman!, 1989" at the 9 second mark.
