The hitch cover on my S is super tight to get on or off. I've used it 3 times now, and one of the tabs is almost broke. I have to really yank on it to get it to come out, then lining it up to force it back into place is a real pain the arse. Wondering if this is normal or a fitment issue with mine?

my 12/22 R1S is the same. Probably removed cover dozen times and always super tight. Hasn't broke yet which is a relief!

I find it a very odd shape. Very hard to pull out. Then, it's very hard to install back without scratching/gouging the surrounding edges. I've decided to just leave it off after dealing with it for the third time.

Your not alone. Our S doesn't like to go on/off very easily. The T is much easier to get on/off

Never a problem taking it off or putting it on, all 3 R1s. Since it is plastic, it might be warped. Put it on a flat surface and check. Also check the part where the cover goes into and see if it's align properly.

I dropped my R1S at the Costa Mesa for some issues and that is one of them. I took it off amd was never to put it back on. It seems that it is 2mm too big for the space. The service advisor couldn't get it to go back in either. I'll probably get my Rivian back in about 3 weeks as he said that they would not even get to look the car for a least week. In the meantime, I have a R1T loaner with Meridian sound. Two things stand out, the suspension and the sound system are superior to the R1S. If they can get the same suspension settings in the R1S, there will be a lot of happy campers.
