I guess I'm missing something?

I measured the receiver outside dimension this afternoon with a digital caliper- it is 3.41" wide.
The factor 55 hitch pins advertise a span of 3 1/8" or 3.125".

How does a hitch pin with a span of 3.125" lock in a receiver that's 3.41" wide?

I have a locking hitch pin with a 3.5" span and I use one O-ring to stop it from rattling, but one O-ring is all that will fit between the receiver outside wall and a 3.5" span hitch pin because the receiver is 3.41" wide.
My measurements were consistent with yours. I’m a little unclear about all of what Factor 55 offers, but pretty sure anything with a true width of 3.125” won’t work.

Factor 55 fits great and exudes quality. The side without the lock slides inside the outer surround of the Rivian hitch, helping a bit with clearance.

So, the true width is more than 3.125”. That does look nice. Thanks for confirming it works.

Just bought this one and it fits well with little gap, the TAL003. It has a span of 3.5" where someone measured around 3.4" on the receiver itself. The locking mechanism itself seems to just be a bit of plate metal that slides in around the pin, so I'm sure it could be pried off if someone really wanted to. But better than nothing.

Yeah, the outside of the receiver looks to be about 3-7/16" - a 3-1/8" pin won't work, unless they are very conservative in their measurment.
This $3 pin (non-locking) is just long enough (I have one):

Just look for one designed for a 2 1/2 inch receiver and it will work.

As my photos show, the Factor 55 pin is 12 cm (4.75 inches) long

Which model number of locking hitch pin did you get that fits?

The weird thing is that the spec states that one has a 3.125" span which should not fit the R1T as someone measured the necessary span at 3.41".
Oh wait, I see, the butt end of the pin is recessed into the outer receiver hole in your 2nd picture. The one with the factor55 logo on the butt end of the pin. Is that the design of this pin? Is it supposed to recess into the hitch receiver hole like that? Is that safe? That's likely why it works for you, otherwise the span is too narrow for the R1T if that end of the pin is supposed to be outside of the receiver wall.
