Okay, this issue is definitely going to another level.

Now I can hear this tocking noise on both front sides of the car, left and right. Also, I can hear it outside of the vehicle as a metal-clicking noise. More to say when it is happening I can feel it on the steering wheel.

I have opened a ticket yesterday and they called me back today, saying the closest appointment is for January 23rd :D This issue is definitely turning me nuts every time I drive, but my main concern is if those CV shafts will fail or not...
Jan 23....that is ridiculous. One week should be the goal. Two weeks when it gets really busy. Three weeks when people need to be hired if not sooner. And something like 12 weeks....totally unacceptable.

Totally agree.

Before people were complaining that only those who are close to SC are getting prioritized deliveries... Now we are who are close to SC should wait for 2.5 months to get their car serviced :DDD

I told them that I'm more than happy to stop by for a diagnostic if they want and show them it. Will see what is going to happen

A visit to the Kansas service center for this particular issue and the recall did not offer any improvement for me. My truck was surprisingly quiet when I first got it but that's not the case now. This issue keeps getting worse and I'm only at ~1,500 miles.

I also dealt with the acceleration shudder in my Model X but had it addressed more than three years ago in a service bulletin and haven't had an issue since.

This Rivian issue is more frustrating (IMO) since it occurs during normal driving and very frequently. It's impossible to drive anywhere without hearing it. Hopefully Rivian will get this sorted sooner than later because this is pretty frustrating on otherwise near perfect vehicle. Meanwhile, it sounds like something is ready to fall off my truck at any moment.
If you haven't done so already, could you take and share a short video (and audio) recording of this sound?

It’s one of the items they are addressing at the shop right now as they replace my entire battery pack since it failed at 800 miles. ?

This has to be on Rivian's radar by now.. just way too many people in for second, third, etc... "fix" with no end in sight. Expect another "redesign" similar to the tonneau fiasco. Something seriously wrong with their CV-Joints and half-shafts.

It’s one thing to not have a fix for this in the field but have they fixed the manufacturing line or are they still putting cars out with this problem?

Nothing has changed yet... people are hearing the tock sound after putting a few hundred miles on even the newest VIN's. One owner has blown out 2 sets of CV-Joints at 800 miles.

It would be helpful if those of us with the tocking sound would include their approximate VIN so we could see if there are any patterns. I have the issue on my truck and it's a 6500 VIN and it seems the tocking is more common in this VIN range (though that's anecdotal). Not to say more recent VINs don't have it, but not sure it's as prevalent.

And: have you ever set the suspension to Highest?

I've heard/felt it on 3 trucks....1500, 2500, and now 3600 vins. I'm sure they will delay a recall as long as possible....too close to the last one. OR they will just say it is as designed/within spec.

I believe this issue has been elevated to Rivian's engineering team and they are currently working on a fix.

My guess is that Rivian has defective half shafts that aren't being manufactured to Rivian's tolerances by their supplier.

The tick/tock showed up in my truck right after recall. I guess it could have been there before but it's a lot louder now. And seems to go away in conserve mode.
