The Rivian tech has been working on the chargers for the last few days and they are up and running. The tech allowed myself and one other local RIvian owner to be Guinea pigs. It's up to REI if they want Rivian to wait to open the site to the public before the store opening. As i understand it the REI soft opening is 7/23 with a open date of 7/25.

Price is .53 for Rivian's and .62 for others.

This is fantastic news. Charging in Durango has been challenging.
How so? I’ve never had a wait at the ChargePoint stations, and I love that they’re right downtown so I can grab lunch.

That said, will be up in Durango next weekend, will check out the new RAN

There are two 200kW DC chargers at Purgatory in their parking lot for $0.30/kW. A bit better value than charging in Durango if you are going through that way anyway.
My favorite charger in the world is the DCFC in Pagosa. Plug in and go swimming in the River!

I'll be driving through Durango on Sunday Jul 20. This RAN is not yet showing up on the onboard nav, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed.
My return leg is on Jul 26, the day after the REI opening, so I still might get to charge there.

I drove by today and the display on the chargers was showing coming soon so at this point I would bet that they would be open on Friday once REI is fully open. Looks like the transit center in Durango is your best bet on the 20th.

Thanks for the update!
Fortunately, I'm able to avoid the high prices at the Transit Center. I easily have enough juice to get from Del Norte to Cortez. I just want to stop at the Durango RAN to support Rivian, and because RAN stations are always the most trouble-free, and fast charging stops for me.

Great news! I’ll be there in September. Really weird that Rivian wouldn’t put it on the official map!

It was added to the map sometime this afternoon. It was not on the map when I drove there this morning, and discovered it is up and running!

Thanks Aardvark for the update. Nice to have fast charging options in the Durango area - only three Mtn passes south of me. Noticed recently the RAN stations in Montrose and GJ have been updated to accept any CCS capable EV with a number of payment options including credit card and RFID reader. Pricing is a bit higher for non-rivian vehicles. The best deal (0.18/kwh) is the Rivian L2 chargers at the MTJ location near Natural Grocer and Target. And they are compatible with any j1772 port - including my teslas.

Ditto. Over/under on RAN price is 56
The latest OTA notes said that there will be off-peak pricing at RANs, so they might become more competitive.

I charged in Durango yesterday at the new RAN charger on a trip from Western CO to Santa Fe. Very easy access off the highway. The REI is not yet open, but it will only cost me more money when it becomes available.

RAN and most other high-speed charging need to be cheaper. At $0.50/kWh and higher, it is detrimental to encouraging EV adoption as it costs more to travel than gas. If Tesla can offer rates around $0.30/kWh, why is Rivian charging almost twice that to owners?

I've always had good luck with the chargers at the downtown transit center in Durango (usually plug it in and then head to Ernies). The new tesla charger in Cortez makes Moab a lot easier to get to and has a good Thai restaurant and a couple mexican places. I've never had to wait in Durango but with only two chargers downtown that seems lucky.

Working beautifully. It’s the most expensive charger ever, though, as it’s impossible to park in an REI parking lot and not drop $300
