R1T Nose Whistle

Has anyone experienced a ‘nose whistle’ in their Rivian?

I have a new R1T Dual gen 2 and am hearing a high pitched whistling sound coming from somewhere in the front of the vehicle. And no, it’s not the motor.

It shows up between 35 - 50 mph of wind speed I.e. if I’m driving into high wind, I hear it at lower road speeds and with the wind at higher speeds.

I’ve been trying to pin point where it’s coming from. Maybe a gap in the frunk seal or something in the grill. Anyone else dealt with this? Thanks

I have noticed this, too. It started at about 3500 miles on my Gen2. For me it sounds like its coming from the headliner.

I haven't had this specific problem, but there's lots of people who have had issues around the top of the windshield, and also around the little windows by the outside mirrors.

Thanks for the tips. I have an appointment with Rivian coming up and they will take a look at this in addition to a couple other things.

Meanwhile, trying to see if others have experienced this, and have been trying to put some painters tape over areas that might be causing the noise to see if I can diagnose it.

Do you have crossbars mounted over the cab?

Noise from the AC recirc ON has been known to cause a whistling issue when driving at highway speeds. Try turning recirculation OFF and see if the noise goes away.

If this is the case, the issue is a less than tight seal in the recirculation section of the car

I have this issue, haven't had time to troubleshoot. Started happening at around 5k miles on my Gen 2.

Do you guys have crossbars? Crossbars on the roof tend to produce a whistling noise.

Thanks. Some good tips here. I’m not finding any gaps in the rubber seal around the windshield, roof glass, or side windows. There are no cross bars. No change when turning off recirculation. It sounds to me like it could be coming through the frunk or grill. But hard to pinpoint.

The nose whistle has been resolved. I took the T in for service and they replaced the leaf screen and added some insulation around it. Fixed under warranty.

All I know is it fixed the problem. I’d suggest contacting Rivian.
