I have the tocking/clucking when initially taking off or letting off the throttle at slow speeds. I have given up, 2 service center appointments, replace special washers, supposedly replace half shafts (I say supposedly because it doesn't show that they did in the ticket and when confronted, the capital heights SC manager refused to add the wording that they were replaced so probably didn't) and lastly, the SC manager said it's NORMAL and no further diagnosis or repair would be forth coming from Rivian. 8000 miles and still does it every day but I just live with it.

As for the loud metallic BANG, yep, I just got that the other day pulling into a parking spot at a crawl with the wheel turned all the way. Suddenly, a loud metallic bell ringing clang rang out from the front end. I straightened the wheels up as I finished pulling in and another metallic bell ringing clang rang out. I was certain I'd have to create a service ticket as something must have broken to make that sound but I drove it away and haven't heard it since.

I dread service center trips as everyone knows it's months to get one, then your vehicle will sit in the parking lot untouched for weeks and then they will give it back to you with either a "that's normal" or "it's been fixed" and it really isn't. Meanwhile, you will be stuck in a sh**ty enterprise rental of a $20k new vehicle that feels like a sardine can for a month.

LOVE the truck but dread the service. I'll just deal with any clangs, clunks and other annoyances until it won't drive and then I'll have no choice but to deal with the service center debacle that will ensue.

This is me too. Mine was called normal. Sounds unrefined at best. Going to live with it as I am avoiding service as much as possible. Hoping someday service improves and I can get issues like tok rectified.

Just got my truck back yesterday. They did the axle washer "fix" for the clicking but also replaced both front dampers. I'm happy to report that my suspension is now MUCH quieter than it used to be. Overall the truck just drives and rides much better now. Unfortunately the rears are still a bit loud (or I'm now just finally able to hear them). So maybe within the next few months I'll have some rear air damper failures and get new quieter ones there, too. lol

Do you not have any clink/clunks from getting on/off throttle? I

They're still there, but vastly reduced. It used to clunk a lot, and pretty noticeably, at all speeds when on/off throttle. Now I'm only noticing it when I'm trying to feather the throttle as I'm pulling into my garage or a parking spot or something like that, but it's much less pronounced than it used to be.

Gotcha. Yeah, that's about normal then. I really want to drive a dual motor to see the differences, as I'm assuming that the tolerances on the half-shaft/hubs and motors were tightened up.

I was had this same problem. I finally was able to get in for service at the Bellevue WA service center (after 9 mos). I got the Truck back and the noises are gone and generally feels tighter. I did not get a synopsis of what was performed (it is not in the APP) either. Has anyone else had this issue of not getting a written report of what was performed?

For what it’s worth, I just got my S serviced in el segundo and it wasn’t a bad experience. I had a list of random things I’d collected since delivery (maybe 6 items or so), and they fixed all but one (which they couldn’t reproduce). I got a shuttle to enterprise where I was able to choose any of 4 ev’s they had to drive for the 10 days my car was out. They had assigned me a rivian but I let another guy take it and tried the Mercedes eqe350+. It was fun trying another ev and it had me feeling appreciate of my superior rivian when I got it back. Anyhow, my point is that other than the commute to the service center, I’m glad I did it even though no issues were inhibiting my daily use whatsoever.
