Just went for a drive and did a quick recording by hitting the button on the top tool bar. When I first got in the car and it was asleep it did pop up that storage device was missing into connect one but the warning flashed away quickly since I had it plugged in. Maybe the USB ports are a little slow to wake up.

When I hit the record button it showed a little status indicator underneath the button that showed progress to 2 minutes. When I hit the button again it stopped and dinged.

I blew the horn a little bit too but nothing recorded. I don't think I blew the horn long enough but I didn't want to attract attention.

Looks like the files are stored in two folders. One is called drive stream and while it shows thumbnails my phone is unable to play the files. I think this might be with the Rivian uses. The other folder is called saveclips and it has four files one for each camera around the car with the date and time. 1 minute and 7 seconds was about 80 MB per file/camera

Stops signs in your neighborhood clearly mean something different than in mine, hehe.

Sorry if this has been covered. Is it possible to set dashcam to continuous record? I have a 2TB shield and would like it to record constantly when driving (and loop if/when drive is full). I don't have the update yet. Thanks
Yes, but we don't definitively know what the record/retention policy is yet, i.e. we don't know if it will use the full 2TB and cyclically write, or if it only uses 256GB etc.

Hehe, yea, that first one is about 20 ft from my driveway so it doesn't get observed much. The second one I think I was good on. I actually was going a little fast there, but I wanted to get closer to the car that went by to see how the license plate looked on the video.

Thanks for posting this!

I wish it used the camera (if there is one) where the Lidar is setup. More of a bird's eye view.

Beggers can't be choosers - this is still a win!

There is no LiDAR.

It's the top link in the post you quoted.
My bad - good correction.

We still have 10 exterior cameras...figure more than one is pointing towards the front.

Wish they used #1 camera instead.

I believe this camera is part of Driver+ ; most likely can't have dual functions.
I'm 99% sure they use the other cameras for Driver+ as well (specifically lane centering). They would just need to find a way to safely expose the data stream to the Drive Cam subsystem.

Lane centering is the camera #1 me thinks, I don't think any of the other cameras are part of Driver+.

So with all the new camera footage what’s the YouTube channels name going to be? I mean there’s “WhamBam Tesla cam”. Rivian Rolver?

Will be interesting to see the places people records driving through.
