Updated fine and I am one of those with the "rare" issue with the GPS indicator and it is finally fixed! I had just called the support desk last week asking if anything had ever been found on this issue and the support tech had never heard of it before.

Mines on 38 but I'm only interested in vampire drain improvements so, annoyingly, I have to keep dismissing the 46 update every time I drive since reports are that the drain got worse. I should message my guide every time the car asks me and tell him I don't want the update at this time.
I think you're mixing up correlation and causation here. They're so many changes in the software from one version to another I think it's unreasonable to think that anybody really knows if one version makes vampire dream worse over the other unless we have a lot of consistent reports with some really accurate measurement.

I don't know if that's possible right now because so many people in different climates with different temperatures of the battery and driving styles.

I would take the updates

Updated last night. All good so far.
Highway assist after lane change was easy to use.
In navigation UI, some style/color changes, not sure it is better or worse yet.
New route planning function seems good.

Updated to .46 this weekend (from the corrected .42 version, I never got the broken one). For me the proximity key "Lock only at home" no longer works, the truck unlocks in my garage now. I tried toggling that feature off and back on again but it still remains broken for me.

I generally agree with you. Even the updates themselves can cause the car to be awake for a long time while updating. People may store keys too close. I notice the lights flashing as I walk around my porch. Some cars have mechanical, environmental or user issues that keep them awake. People configure settings differently including keys, gear guard and music services. They might have weak Internet signals that cause the car to retry over long periods.

But through it all, one thing is clear. When particular individuals do everything the way they normally do and the drain consistently increases after an update, it's a red flag. Someone recommended delaying an update until the subsequent update is also released. This gives people a choice of three updates to choose from; the one they are on and the next two. It's effectively what recently happened. While on 38, 42 was released which had problems and then 46 is released. 42 can be disregarded as bad so there are only two to choose from again. It's not like GitHub where we can roll back to a stable build ourselves. We are helpless pawns in this game of Roulette.

All seems to be good with the update. Just drove approx 67 miles with it and the lane change feature is nice!

I fiddled with the “add stop” function in route planner. I really like that you can do “add stop” to different chargers than the ones the system recommends. This makes planning a days drive much easier.

I saw one person (another.46 thread) noticing issues with the tailgate latch post update, anyone else?
yep, at the service center now with tailgate issue.. it only became a real problem when I couldn’t close the gate and then started to get warning message and alarm that an open tailgate and load was in the back. Some things should be left to simple mechanical design not software and electronics imo.Service levels are very good though. People care across the service team. Still my favorite vehicle ever. Going to the mountain and having it become non drivable would be a deal breaker for me but so far just some annoying new car co things I can live with.

Updated last night, I've driven ~70 miles with no issues. Drive+ remaining active after lane change is a welcomed and overdue feature; route planning is also much improved.

Also, and I'm sure this has been mentioned, but it looks like the font is slightly different...

Still haven't gotten my update. Seems they are rolling out more slowly now. I was previously getting mine the first day or two after they rolled out.

Has anyone updated directly from 38? If so, have you encountered any issues in doing so? Thanks

Updated last night without issue. Went out for a drive to test the lane change feature and it's great. Should make next week's 400 mile drive a lot easier.

That said, on my test drive last night i felt like the suspension felt stiffer than usual (even on the soft setting). While driving with Driver+ engaged I hit a pretty big bump that caused Driver+ to disengage and adaptive cruise to stop working completely. I kept getting an error that said "Adaptive cruise unavailable until serviced." It almost seemed like something came loose. Luckily a sleep cycle seems to have fixed it. I assume this wasn't related to the OTA update.

The 2 weeks option will never happen; they want as many vehicles on the current OTA as possible so they don't have to support old versions.
Yes, this could be true.

But, it's not about wanting to wait 2 weeks before I update, it's more about not needing to be reminded every time I get in my R1. I generally update in less than a week after I'm offered the update, depending on various factors. "Don't remind me again" would work also.
