I do not understand, that's why I said I was confused. I will say that I think I've had free connectivity since I purchased my R1T in 11/22. I think I've also been receiving Tune-In radio for free since that date. I've also been receiving Spotify, but I am a subscriber out side of rivian-sphere too.
Yes, you have had free data since delivery (we all did), though it wasn't called Connect+ until recently.

There was a free 1-year trial of Tune-In that came with the truck. Check your billing, you'll likely be charged for that when the 1-year is up.

Spotify is not included with Connect+, and never was. You logged in with your Spotify app in the truck and use it.

Would you clarify this. I don't see anything on my APP or web login that says I will be auto billed for Tune in at the end of a year. I don't use it so would like to prevent that. THX

I suspect you mean the Rivian app/website. If you want to cancel tunein, go to tuneIn.com and cancel the subscription.

You need to log in to your TuneIn account itself from a PC, that's where you will see your trial period expiration date.

Yes, I contacted Customer Support. Apparently, for all existing owners, the 2 month free trial of Connect+ began on August 15. I assume the free trial for new owners will begin when they activate it.

Does this mean a TuneIn account was created automatically when in I registered my R1T? Because I don't have a TuneIn account nor created one.

No. You would have had to use an existing account or create a new one AND agree to the trial terms.

Thanks- Like I said, I don't nor ever did have an account with TuneIn. My guess the forced subscription does not affect owners like me then.

Yeah, there was no forced subscription for anyone. You only sign up if you want, and you had to do it yourself.

IIRC, I needed to create a TuneIn account after a Rivian update disconnected my R1T form the TuneIn service. The truck kept asking for my TuneIn credentials which of course I didn't have since I never created a TuneIn account. It then presented me with a TuneIn PIN code to add the R1T to my TuneIn account, which as of that time I didn't have. So I finally created a (free level) TuneIn account, added my Rivian PIN and everything started working once again for the remainder of the free Rivian TuneIn subscription period (which ended in July 2024). The interesting part of adding the Rivian PIN to my newly created TuneIn free level account was that I now had "Premium" account status with commercial free music even streamed to my PC and phone.

Essentially, yes. Connect+ is more or less the data plan for the vehicle itself. You can use your phone and tether and get most of the same functionality, but there are downsides.

You still need to pay for external services like Apple Music, Spotify, etc. and login to your own accounts on the vehicle even with Connect+
What would the downsides be?
