No. It works just like casting from your iPhone to any Google Cast enabled TV and/or devices (Chrome Cast, Amazon Fire Stick, etc.). Once set up, the infotainment screen will show among list of available devices to stream to. Watch walkthrough video of OTA at riviantrakr.com.

While people are enjoying their time using Chromecast to pass the time while charging or waiting for their spouses to mindlessly shop for new shoes and clothes "AKA Christmas presents", has anyone considered using a CarPlay dongle to display the Waze map on the main screen?

Before anyone mentions that it can only be used when the vehicle is parked, I want to clarify that the dongle tricks the system into thinking the vehicle is stationary.

Ok, so when will you use it?

I use it when I sit in the parking lot of a store I can’t be bothered going into. Makes waiting tolerable and fun! Charging on the road is nice, but not regularly done for me. Used it to wait already a couple of times and is better than using a phone.
