What are the dimensions of the adaptor? Want to find a case for it on Amazon. Thanks
All this talk about cases... Can you see how it fits in the travel charger bag along side existing cable and charger?
Either is fine. Whichever is easier and handy. The only thing about the door pocket is how secure is it when the door is being opened and closed, sometime slammed closed.

There was an image of someone who put it into the door pocket already and it seem to fit so just need to keep it from sliding inside the door pocket, I guess...
I guess it depends on the person and the use-case.

I don't keep much in any vehicle and currently my R1S center console holds 4 bottles of water and have a console tray that holds a sunglass, a small travel tissue and a coin holder. Not a big deal to lose a bottle or two of water to give up some of the depth.

That said, the suggestion of using door pocket probably is a simpler and better solution.
I tested out the adapter last night. Just like A2Z adapter, it was a breeze to plug in...just a little slippery with the slick plastic. Taking it out after the charge is a little different. Pressing the button to release from the port was the same and easy but pressing the button to release the charger is different from the slider on A2Z so it will take some time to get used to it.

I measured the dimensions and it is 2.5"w x 3.875"h x 4.75"d. I hijacked my kids' Giro Snow Goggles pouch to put the adapter into to keep the dust and dirt out. It fits in the door pocket along with my umbrella style windshield shade and doesn't move around.

nice. lets hope Tesla's crazy firing of their SC team doesn't mean this is the last shipment we'll see for a while.
I see Elon's mass firing as another bit of crazy and probably based on a nightmare or something bad he ate for supper. Disappointing, but then we all know that's Elon.

While I'd love to see the network of Tesla Superchargers continue to grow, what's out there now will still represent a substantial improvement for us CCS Rivian folks as we travel distances. Would it have been better if Elon didn't fire his charging team? Yes. But we're still picking up lot of charging infrastructure.
Celebrate what is, and don't start wearing sackcloth and ashes over what isn't.

agreed but thats assuming Elmo's not done with the craziness. there's no guarantees he doesnt suddenly sack the agreements he made with Rivian and others. Or leaves things ambiguous trying to cause confusion and chaos. if Rivian is truly moving to native NACS ports, is there now some doubt or ambiguity about it? i would think so.

At a minimum, every other EV company is having executive level discussions about whether to go through with NACS plans. They'll have lots of non-commital corporate speak in the mean time, but will be prepared to stick with CCS depending on how the market evolves in the next yearish.

I suspect that the NACS conversion isn't a zero-effort endeavor from the Tesla side. Tesla + Ford and Tesla + Rivian did some level of customization work to get the NACS adapter to work. There's likely more work to do with other NACS partners and to get L2 charging to work through the same port with the destination charging network.

Maybe the people responsible for this work are still at Tesla and maybe not.

Turns out these adapters cost $25 retail. Guess I spent 7x on an a2z.

I mean, they cost $0 retail to owners, so really you paid an infinite amount more on an a2z.
Yes Rivian owners get them free but the point is that the A2Z and Lectron adapters must have an insane markup considering the official one is deemed perfectly safe by the car manufacturers at a $25 retail price..

Whose says that's not a subsidized price? no one is going to make ,only selling any DC adapter at $25

You'll get ONE per vehicle at the subsidized free or $25 price. After that (let's say you lost or damaged your first adapter), you'll pay full retail price for it, whatever that turns out to be. Tesla charges $250 for the CCS-1 to NACS adapter, which is what I would you to pay for the Ford, Rivian, ... NACS to CCS-1 adapter after your first one that you receive at a discounted price.

Warranty on the adapter is 2 years from the date of delivery. If it malfunctions during that time period, Rivian will replace it.

Well, until units start breaking down and stay down..

Two benefits with the TSC is the number of dispensers per site that helps to offset down units (one of the 2 times I’ve used a Magic Dock site, 2 out of 8 were not activating - the 3rd I tried worked), and the fact they’re (were) actively servicing down units.

As more details emerge it’s clear the axe included whacking support/maintenance WW.

Around the world, Tesla has upwards of 50,000 Supercharger stalls. It's unknown how many charger service technicians Tesla employed before this spate of brutal layoffs, but workers were apparently working around the clock and even skipping time with family, according to InsideEVs. Now imagine a skeleton screw trying to play whac-a-mole on any issues that may pop up in the Tesla Supercharger network.
How much of this was retribution for having opened up TSC to the world and taking out their remaining competitive advantage. How many Tesla owners purchased a chase BECAUSE of TSC and how many now won’t as it’s no longer a requirement for access?

Well - we did a 4+ hour drive up and back from Mass to Conway NH this weekend and didn't have to charge - was initially thinking we'd need some Tesla charger time - got back with 80 miles of range on the Max Pack- love my Rivian - and realizing we're fine without the Tesla access and when we have it - will be a nice thing to have not needed.

The text I have bolded assumes you believe that Rebecca Tinucci made the strategic decision to allow other companies on the Tesla network.

That would be inconsistent with the real world examples of Mr. Musk's known propensity for micro managing. Also inconsistent with the self perpetuated myth that he is directly responsible for everything.
