Hello my dudes!

Today, we're finally, officially announcing the OpenSource EV Parts NextGen Aux Cupholders for the Rivian R1S and R1T.

Rivian R1T R1S NEW PRODUCT - OpenSourceEV NextGen Aux Cupholders 9dUV6vubisUO7uUFQcmD3y=w1843-h1382-s-no?authuser=1

The OpenSourceEV Parts NextGene Aux Cupholders are the easiest way to add additional places for your drinks in your Rivian. This completely new version remains unobtrusive and easy to install, and they are now completely toolless to put together.

All NextGen Aux Cup Holder are two pieces - a mounting hanger that hangs on the vehicle and a cup that clips onto the hanger. The NextGen Cupholder is available in five different hangers and two different cup sizes.

Rivian R1T R1S NEW PRODUCT - OpenSourceEV NextGen Aux Cupholders IMG_2295

The standard size cup holder is 79MM wide at the top, 71MM wide at the bottom, and 89MM tall. This size is designed to hold most common drink sizes such as cans, 20oz plastic bottles, most fast-food drinks, and 20ish oz vacuum insulated cups.

The large size cupholder is 92MM wide all the way through, and 102MM tall. This size is designed for common 40z water bottles and mugs -- similar in size to our Cup Holder Extension.

One of the big things with this cupholder is the complete overhaul of the mounts. There are now five different mounting locations for the setup. They include:
  1. Door Pockets - Complete new, these work on both the front doors and now the REAR doors of the R1S as long as the rear set is slid to it's rear-most position.
  2. Front Door (High) - This is shown in the first picture here and installs into a small gap with weather stripping, separate from where the window is, and does not affect its use. It rests on the vegan leather and does not contact the wood.
  3. Rear Door (High) - The rear door bracket is similar to the front door model, but it's longer to account for the deeper sill of the rear doors. It installs in the same channel and does not contact the wood.
  4. Rear (R1T) - This installs over the front of the under-seat storage of the R1T. You fold up the driver's side and slide it over the front to install in place.
  5. Center Console (Passenger) -A newer, more stable center console setup. This wedges itself between the trim pieces on the storage area in front of the center console. (you'll need to be careful with moving the passenger seat with this one)
Pricing on these are $15.95 or $29.95 for two. Free domestic shipping ($9.95 for Canada) starts are orders over $50. You can order them here: https://opensourceev.com/products/nextgen-aux-cupholder

You can also buy additional mounts or additional cups for $6.95 or $9.95 separately. Additional bits are available here: https://opensourceev.com/search?q=nextgen+cup

This product is a very slightly updated version of the Rivian Cup Holder Clips, made by Todd Stansell. Sold by permission of the author. You can download the design here.

Just want to chime in - they are well designed I have used them since March when Todd posted them - they are very handy when camping in the R1S as they give you usable cup holders when the rear seats are folded flat.

?

Can confirm that all Four Locos in cans will fit. This includes classic Four Loco, Four Loco GOLD, and Four Loco Warheads and Jungle Juice.

I'm sad to say that Four Logo Pregame will likely not fit. I'll try to get a holder for that on the roadmap.

So jokes aside, I thought, "this truck already has so many holders." But then I also realized that for an off road trip I keep spares handy, and just had one go flying after an unexpected whoop.

Next request: We need a hidden but accessible pistol holder, mid size or compact. For where this is legal.

If you thought there were already so many cup holders, you are obviously not using the second row. The second row has 0 cup holders for the 3 three people sitting back there.

That is at least three less than there should be. It's not unreasonable for each person to expect their own cup holder.

I know, right!

If you have three people sitting in the second row, there isn't a single one to be found. It would have been really nice if they would have somehow integrated one in each of the doors like many other vehicles do. It sorta pains me that these are even needed.

Not once, and if I were, fuck'em, their problem.

Yet another thing I miss from our Tesla. It had these huge, forward-canted water bottle holders in each door.

I’m interested in this product, but I have a question. Can the rear lower cupholders be used on the seat back pocket in the R1S? Using them in the door is not an option because it requires the seat to be in the furthest back setting. With my kids getting in and out this will get ripped off immediately. I’m hesitant to do the rear higher cupholders with a 40 ounce water bottle. It just feels like too much weight to be perched on the cell like that.

my creative solution is to use the rear lowers in the seat back pocket and achieve the same purpose.

It's not really that kind of vehicle. My Sierra has 8 available even when 5 people are in the cab and we love it. It's nice to have a bottle of water in a cup holder 24/7, and an extra place for a soda, sweet tea, Powerade... Especially in the South where it's hot as balls and we have to hydrate all day long.

It cannot because the angle of the seat isn't perpendicular to the floor. Todd, the gentleman who created the models also has an additional setup for the pocket on the back of the front seats. I can alter it to be in line with what I sell if you're really interested in it.

I don't think that I'm going to sell it regularly due to variability of the mount and the likelihood of it being returned if you don't know what you're getting into.

Anyway, message me at OpenSource EV and I can provide additional details if you're interested.
