That's one more thing to kick off my "things I hate about my Rivian" list.

I do expect google navigation to be significantly better and much faster to get issues corrected. With the old navigation they never fixed a single issue I reported. I was aware of the other way of doing it (through mapbox) but I never did that after Rivian implemented the reporting feature.

Rivian also put a service center within a few miles of my work which I expect will reduce the service wait times significantly.

Hitch-mounted bike or cargo rack with relocated license plate and lighting.
Thanks, didn’t know about that kind of rack.
Ugh. Then why did you buy a non-Tesla? Send your feedback to Rivian through the mobile app. Scroll to the bottom and tap "share feedback".
Check my sig, I’m not a Rivian owner yet. I have an R2 reservation and I’m a big fan of what Rivian is doing.

Got my update this afternoon. That off-peak pricing has not come here yet.

Local RI RAN station still at $0.59kW, 24x7.

Regional Tesla station at $0.36kW if I get there before 8AM.

Kinda crazy how quickly rivian stopped giving updates to their most loyal customers.
What do you mean? Rivian's most loyal customers bought a gen 1, then traded it for a gen 2. They are still getting updates.

For routing I prefer Google maps as it has pretty accurate traffic. For turn by turn instructions... Apple Maps is 100x better. It will tell what lane you need to be in and to tell you what lights to skip.

I'd often second check a route using Google Maps on my phone to find it came up with a more efficiant route. ABPR is shit. Very happy they went with Google (even if google is secretly harvesting all my data and reading my thoughts)

Now that I've read through this entire thing so far, I have to admit I was worried at the beginning. Here, Rivian added one of the most requested features, so I was deeply concerned that this thread would be devoid of useless whining and bellyaching. Glad to see that's not the case, as we have one user complaining that his Gen 1 is "abandonware" even though it's still receiving updates, just not everything the Gen 2 is getting. We have another user claiming the Gen 1's are the "most loyal," whatever that means as well.

I would have been disappointed if this thread were filled with only positive affirmations and congratulatory statements over getting a feature I've seen requested on here hundreds of times. Whenever I've had a bad day, I like to look at the petty and childish complaints some of the members here make, and I feel a little better because I'm nowhere near that miserable.

ABRP requires a lot of tweeking to get good results, which is one thing I like about it.

I like having control over every variable that impacts route efficiency, charger selection and path. If you take the time to really use the settings, it is very accurate. I used it to predict a recent trip that included charging and it was within a couple percent of actual arrival SoC. It doesn't get any better than that.

But I always verify the route with Google Maps, which I think almost always picks the best route. Most of the time it lines up with ABRP. When it doesn't, it is usually because Google isn't picking charging stops, which can change the route if a good charger isn't on the route Google selected.

Ok finally available with a handful installed or downloaded. Seems like they could release it and then document it while we all download.

Also I said "essentially abandonware" not just abandonware. Quit getting your knickers in a bind and actually read what people type.
You were the first to get your knickers in a bind with the whining. Your profile says you're an IT Solutions Architect. If you're truly an IT Solutions Architect, you'd be among the first to understand that infinite software updates to hardware that is no longer in production are practically impossible. From phones to computers to network switches. But your "essentially abandonware" implication was clear. It means "all but abandoned." And all of the updates that the poster you replied to - and more - prove otherwise. You just like to hear yourself complain, and then complain about how others react to you.

Updated today, went pretty fast actually but note that it sticks at 90% during install for a bit. Initially it was slow after punching in location but now its snappy. Thanks Rivian!

In my GM truck when Google provides route options, it tells you what battery percent you will save on a more efficient route. I agree ABRP is not that good. At one time it was "better than nothing", but now most nav systems are just as good, or better at route planning.

LOL. Pointing out issues with Rivian as a company is getting my knickers in a bind - hilarious.

Yes hardware does go End of Life. I however do not order hardware expecting "x feature" and just ignore when a vendor cannot deliver.

But your "essentially abandonware" implication was clear. It means "all but abandoned." And all of the updates that the poster you replied to - and more - prove otherwise.
I do believe it is essentially abandonware. I would love for Rivian to prove me wrong; I simply don't think that will be the case.

You just like to hear yourself complain, and then complain about how others react to you.
Oh no, I reply to people who "speak" directly to me... Heaven forbid one has a discussion on an internet forum. I must have missed the memo where we aren't supposed to have discussions here.
