I don't think that will remain the case. Opening up the network (to get subsidies) also included standardizing the "NACS" plug into SAE 3400. If it's standardized, then any approved adapter would be fine. For now, only the Tesla adapter is approved but that won't satay the case. There's no way Tesla can say only their adapter is accepted once there are other options.I don't think waiting two months longer would have helped. It's up to Tesla who can use what adapters on their charging network.
