So I guess they have to replace hubs and shafts to temporarily fix the issue. Who would have guessed that 600+hp in a front wheel drive mini van would cause driveline issues?
So ride with the tech lasted all of 5 seconds, barely backed out of the spot, said it's likely the rear disconnect that blew a gasket $340 part, $33 gasket. I'm curious if they're going to replace the whole thing, just the gasket, or if they find something more. It was a terrible noise and feeling, so I'm really curious if all the came from a little gasket.

$33 part is the output shaft seal the rest of the disconnect is supposed to be a sealed unit so I'd assume the $340 part is the disconnect but seams kind of cheap for that at least with Rivian pricing standards. Keep us posted.

Doesn't the Gen 1 and Gen 2 vehicles use the same half-shafts?

Can the defective part number be linked here for Dual and Quad?

(F) is Dual Motor front half-shafts. (G) is the Quad motor half-shafts.

You have to look at the whole part number, the variant is the ending letter. In this case, the newest variant is G for Enduro (in house dual motor).

The Bosch quad did have a G, but they're now on H. Also, completely different part number.

So the (F) I had installed 2 weeks ago is the part that's being replaced?

The "required parts" is the outgoing part. I read that backwards.

I also had the “F” installed a few weeks back in my 2023 R1T. The “F” is the most recent half shaft that the recalled vehicles will get updated too from what I can see in the notice

Very true points. But most people aren’t ok spending $100k for unreliable EVs. That’s why Rivian sells a measley 14k or so per qtr….
Were you a Tesla owner long enough to remember the driver unit failures?? This is the exact same thing, just 10 years difference. Tesla eventually fixed it, but it took them 20 iterations of part numbers to do so.

I had my front half shafts replaced in June at 30k miles. Now, at 40k miles, I have clunking when shifting from 2wd to 4wd. Making the 5 hour pilgrimage to the SC in a couple weeks

Does H stand for Hardened?

Please post screenshots of your work orders showing the exact full part number... Folks are focusing too much on the revision and not enough on the full part number.
