Yes, Bluetooth on when parked at home. The truck did 33 sleep and 35 idle cycles on the day before

My big reason for keeping track of phantom drain is while parked at an airport, or while snow camping at Mount Lassen. I‘m not sure it’s cool to plug into one of two Level 2 chargers for 3 days at the Visitor Center
I noticed a lot of sleeps and idles. Try turning off BT overnight via the Rivian app settings on the iPhone, not the main BT option (assuming you are an iPhone user) to see if you experience less sleeps and idles and better numbers.

So far, I’ve only had the increased number of idles one day. Not sure what caused this.

Do you have this data screen like below? For Tesla's you can see the 1 minute snapshots and edit whatever columns you want. It may let you see a pattern for your sleeps and idles. HTH

Thanks for that tip! I do have that option in ElectraFi as well.

Looking through some of today’s data, it looks like it goes through these random idle/sleeping cycles for about 15 minutes give or take 5 minutes, then will sleep for about 30 minutes before going through the cycles again.

You are very welcome. Always curious how non-Teslas are handled.

Did you happen to do the 'Edit Layout' option and take a wild guess as one of the tracked data values that is tracked which changes at all? eg. the 3 shown above are all fixed.
There are some that are states (on/off) like climate or 12v related (DC-to-DC) or ? ... just to look for something that changes and may give a hint (to you or Rivian). Certainly Rivian have downloadable logs to look at too.

Wow there are quite a few options available to add. I assume each <NONE> value can be assigned a value to track?

Ahh good stuff. I’ve had this with my Tesla and now Rivian but haven’t played around with it this deep before. Unfortunately there aren’t many parameters that work with the Rivian. It lists a ton but some are obviously Tesla specific, so they just show blanks for that data. I did test “Fan Status” which did turn on when I turned on climate preconditioning. But I don’t see anything else updating with that (preconditioning or Climate On variables don’t seem to be working).

I tried checking a bunch of variables that might be waking the truck, but either those aren’t available to Rivians or they aren’t turning on at all to cause the waking. I’ll keep digging, though!

Yeah, I realized that as well however you can change the Rivian specific ones.

I have a full 7 days of data on 2024.47, car sleeping in the driveway while we were out of the country.

R1T Trimax
Not plugged into charger
Gear guard off
Minimal check-ins/remote wakes

Rivian R1T R1S Has your phantom vampire drain significantly improved with 2024.47.x software update? vIU5Mkt

Starting SOC Dec 24 9:58am: 48.6%
Ending SOC Dec 31, 9:58am (168 hours): 43.7%
Avg drain: 0.7% per day

Interestingly, the curve seems to steepen a few days in, not sure if I was checking in on it more towards the end. Looking at the power state records, there are a few more frequent 1hr4min wake cycles in the last couple of days. Why would the car be in ready state for over an hour at a time?

Gen1 dual here and after the 47 update, there is no improvement in drain after sitting another 4 days untouched. Still 1% per day (4 miles so 30% per month) loss. GG off and I'm on the other side of the planet. A big ass battery disconnect switch seems to be the solution when storing it.

Good news: Vampire Drain down to near 0%
Bad news: It's because the vehicle is bricked.
12V went out and totally dead. Assume I'll be getting a new one and if so, will that help my VD?

My Gen2 R1T. 48 hrs unplugged at 70% SOC in a cold MN garage.

48 hrs later it was 69%. Consumption meter showed 0 kWh used.

I plugged it in to get back to 70%. Took 8 minutes and truck UI said 1.3 kWh of power was delivered to the battery. So a loss of about 0.6 kWh per day.

I’ve been tracking the phantom drain daily reported by electraFi since July 2024. My phantom drain has improved significantly in The four days since I updated to 2024.47.1 This is with Gear Guard turned off except for a period of time on version 2024.39.1.

IMG_1969.webp
My latest observations. 2024 R1S in garage. Temp in there about 45. Software updated to 2024.47.1 GG off. Rivian bluetooth off on the Iphone. Starting with 70 percent charge and 247 miles range.
Car in both service mode and shipping mode. After first 24 hours: Still at 70% charge and range loss of 1 mile to 246 miles
2nd 24 hours: turned off both service and shipping modes; Lost 10 miles of range to 236 miles and lost 2% of charge to 68%.
Next 24 hours, turned shipping mode back on but left service mode off: lost 0 percent of charge -- still at 68%, and lost 2 miles of range to 234 miles.
Next 24 hours turned service mode back on, shipping mode remains on; charge still at 68%, lost 2 miles range to 232 miles,
Next 24 hours charge drops to 67 percent, 3 miles of range lost to 229 miles.
Next 24 hours, charge drops to 66 percent, range drops 3 miles to 226 miles.

So, over 6 days, playing with the modes, I went from 70% charge to 66% charge, and from range of 247 miles to 226 miles. A big chunk (about half) of the range loss was when both shipping mode and service mode had been turned off. Seems like having shipping mode on makes the big difference in preventing loss of range and SOC.

When I did tests like this I turned proximity completely off. This helped as long as a key wasn't nearby because although the car wouldn't unlock, it would still wake with a key nearby.

Camp mode everything off has also been used by some. Other settings like WiFi off and turning off data sharing to rivian may also help. Of course gear guard will eat battery.
