There are numerous studies, at this point, that indicate there isn't much reason to fear battery degradation due to using DCFCs and charging to 100%. There are guys who have Teslas that they rented out that were charged everyday (multiple times) on DCFC (to 100%), and have gotten over 400,000 miles. You can see some of these accounts on YouTube.Tesla says range reduction is adversely affected by using Level 3 charging, Charging to or near 100% and running the battery near to empty
I didn’t have a wall charger for the first week I had my R1T, and I wasn’t yet experienced in estimating the distances I travelled. I found myself under 10% with nothing but a Tesla charger near me.A couple of weeks ago, was driving home from Michigan, we normally stop at RAN in Maumee, OH. We dropped off my sons car at Tesla supercharger in Findlay, OH on the way up. Decided to not stop twice, R1S said 11 miles left upon arrival. That lowered to 4 miles left at arrival and about 1 miles off the exit received a warning message that vehicle was reducing power to conserve range. Never saw that before, and we were already in Conserve mode.
Curious to how close others have come to “zero”.
