Nothing technical here, just my observations. I have 67 miles on my R1T in 6 weeks of ownership, from week 2 (after an update) it started losing roughly 6% per day sitting in my garage. I charged 3 times from the wall charger and actually only drove 50 miles (17 when delivered). Good news is that after the last update a week ago it has only lost 9%. So I've gone from losing around 40% per week, to 9%. Not ideal but the weather is cooler and I'm optimistic future updates will improve efficiency.

I think there's certainly opportunity for Rivian to improve this, it seems to wake every 3-4 hrs and seems to stay in that state for about an hour each time...

That is a lot of overly long wake cycles for a vehicle not going anywhere... no wonder 24hr loss is so high.

Where are you seeing this data?

Surely the engineers know this....where are you getting this data from?

I’m going to log mine next week to see exactly how many miles are eaten up by vampire battery drain. I’m guessing it’s in the 2-4 mile range per day.

I will bet mine is close to your consumption numbers.

It’s a 2nd vehicle and sits a lot. In will report back at the end of next week with actual numbers.

It‘s the only area so far where my R1T has failed to meet my expectations. It’s a hungry electron monster when sitting still.

Do you have the latest OTA? If not, would be nice to see a comparison right before the update and after the update as there are supposed to be improvements in this update.

Vampire drain is horrendous even with most up to date software, all doors closed, proximity turned off, gear guard off. There is no way to avoid it at this time. It also gets progressively worse with ambient temperature the colder it gets. I was seeing around 4%+ loss per 24hr when temps dropped into the teens. It's just something we have to accept as an owner at this time.

Just curious, but it doesn't look like the Rivian is your first EV as it's showing a Model X and i3 in your profile. My Tesla M3 LR lost about 4% the other day sitting at the airport in 20* weather overnight. Interestingly, once I preconditioned the vehicle it went back up to 1% loss....so who knows!

I agree, the vampire drain sucks, but I do expect it to improve with the newest OTA. These are a few good posts I found helpful:

Any tests done on Vampire battery drain? | Page 44 | Rivian Forums - R1T R1S R2 Owners, News, Discussions, RIVN Stock

Phantom Battery Drain Issue Solved? May be frunk latch failing to fully engage and preventing Rivian from going to sleep fully | Rivian Forums - R1T R1S R2 Owners, News, Discussions, RIVN Stock
This makes me wonder why long term parking lots just don't install a row of 120V 15A plugs for EVs? You get like 100 miles a day with that, right? I guess the risk is someone stealing the charging cord?

Just for reference... my i3 has been at a body shop for the last 15 days (it got rear-ended by a Smart Car of all vehicles).
I dropped it off 15 days ago with 91% battery SOC, today it's at 89%. So 2% loss in 15 days... and the car has been stored outside the whole time with morning temps in the mid 20's.
