Thanks for the info.
I grew up in West Michigan and its always been Meijers. lol
I live in Wisconsin and I also say Meijers. Although here, my Meijers stops are generally because of our Superchargers, not EA stations. The only EA station near me is at a Wal-Mart, though the Meijers/Supercharger that is closest to me is also adding EA chargers soon.

Judging from his tweet while they were trailer testing, it didn't seem positive - though seemed like a lot of that was down to the charger output. Guess we'll see.
He was bitching about the CP250 being a PoS because it only puts out 80kw at 400v. Their labeling is very misleading.

Admittedly based on threads in here I’m way less concerned about DCFC charge speed than others. Probably because I do not use them that much. The times are way faster than my MS and I never found a need to complain about that charge rate when traveling.

Just my take, please check my math, but I read it like this going 39% to 80%.

That 41% of battery is 55 kWh so an average rate of 2 kWh per minute or or 120 kWh per hour. Based on 2.32 miles per kWh which is EPA rating for the 314 miles, that is 127 miles in 28 minutes. Not 120 in 20 Rivian claimed but the session started at 39% so probably would have been a little better going 20% to 61%.
A lot of my point/complaint is relative to other recently released BEVs. It's a larger pack, and all signs are pointing to it being significantly slower than then e-tron and EQS above 50%. In fact, it appears to be charging at about the same rate in the 70 to 90% range as my ID.4 with an 82kwh battery. That 39 to 80% charging duration suggests it averaged 117kw over that period, and finished at less than 65kw assuming it drops linearly. Or it has a massive stair step down somewhere in there. It seems like they're programming the curve so that it hits a wall closer to 70% or less rather than the 80% people generally quote. Which just shouldn't be the case for a flagship vehicle.

So far it seems like the 140 miles in 20 minutes is going to be tied to plugging in at 10% or less SOC. So plug in at 10%, pull 190+kw till 50%, and then pick up the last 5% somewhere in the 170kw range.

I generally don't road trip that much, but I'm planning to more, and when I do I expect that this $80k+ truck better not be significantly slower than my $40k ID.4.

I expect them to improve this over time. No matter how much testing you do internally you can’t replicate the volume of real world data your consumers provide after delivery. Much like Ford was conservative with the Mach E initially, I expect Rivian to loosen things up over time. My bold prediction is we will see 150kw up to 65-70% state of charge within 1 year.

edit: that said I will base purchasing decisions based on current performance not my long term hope

...radar detector on.
You're the first person I've seen mention a radar detector. How have you mounted and wired it so far? I'm making the assumption you aren't just using the suction cup and 12v outlet. In most vehicles I use a mirror tap for power and a Blendmount to mount the detector just below the rearview mirror.

Don’t mean to derail your thread but what are your impressions of Forrest Green now that you’ve lived with it for a couple days?
I'm very happy with the FG. It is a relatively unique color on trucks.

Which tires do you have?

You know what they say about assumptions... :)
I move my Uniden back and forth between 3 vehicles so the suction cup/coiled cord option is quick, easy, and has worked pretty well so far. Quick and dirty - suction cup mount low on the windshield in the center allows the coiled travel cord to easily sit between the displays and plug into the 12v outlet below the dash. I'll be getting a new one soon - been waiting for the Theia to become available, but now that I have the truck I just may order a V1.
Since my first detector, the original Escort, I have had many mounted in just about every way possible. Once warmer weather arrives and the initial novelty of driving the R1T wears off a bit I will take the time to mount/wire one in better.

I could've said 'Culvers' which is just as close and it would have been a little more vague...
I’m in CO and we have Culver’s all over the place now. Great burgers!

Thanks for sharing your charging experience! I’m confident Rivian will improve on this with updates after more vehicles are out in the world. Good to know that using conserve mode helps.

Valentine One (2nd Gen) is arguably the best on the market. Love mine

By the published specs the Theia looks like a game changer - but it has been in s00n mode for a couple of years now with no availability in sight. I waited over 3 years for the R1T - not going to wait that long for the Theia...

I use blendmount also in all my vehicles. I contacted them about making a custom mount for the R1T and will be sending them pictures and measurements.

Thanks for the post. I expect to be using chargers in GR an Cadillac on my trips from Chicago to Northern MI. Right now A Bette Route Planner tells me that a trip that normally takes me 6 hrs will now take 7.

Just a heads up that ABRP is very optimistic about charging times of R1T at the moment.
For example on my route it thinks that R1T is going to charge 29%-99% in 46 minutes
Rivian R1T R1S Initial range and charging real world observations by R1T owner 1647700197916

and 10%-48% in 14 minutes

This simply won't happen :)

The second one should. I had them pull out back a week to two ago, but it looks like even that was too fast for the current curve.

The second one is definitely more realistic, but still 38% is ~49kWh (around 130 is usable?). That would mean it would have to charge at average rate of 212kW over 14 minutes. That's without loses, conditioning, so probably more like 225kW from the charger.
