It’s time to get a tire rotation on my r1t. Have people just removed the trim panels over the Jack points or are you buying the Jack pucks?
I plan to take it to a local shop for the rotation. I don’t have a spare so I don’t have the plastic Jack puck.
Have people have any issues reinstalling the panels (broken clips, etc)?

thanks!

I haven't gotten my first rotation yet, but I decided I'd rather pay once for the pucks, then risk having someone break those panels (which cost who knows how much, and might take a while to arrive).

In the manual around removing those panels (which, btw, require multiple screwdriver heads, as well as clips), it specifically calls out that if a clip breaks, you should contact Rivian for a replacement. It sounds like breaking the plastic clips on the panels is a likely scenario.

Edit: forgot to mention, even the little flaps for the pucks are a bit flimsy IMO, and I worry those will break from use.

Also, when I discussed the truck with our local repair shop, they seemed very happy I had the pucks on order already. I think it'll make their lives much easier (which is always a good relationship to have with your local repair/tire shop).

I ordered the magnetic ones from RivianStyle. They look great and seem to work well. I'll find out for sure how they work once I get the rotation completed in the near future. ?

I removed the panels a number of times, I don't have high hopes for their longevity. There is at least bolts in each but the clips are starting to wear out IMO.

I ordered a pair of jack pucks.

I have snow tires that just arrived. I asked two different discount tire employees if they will be to handle the R1S. They claim it uses the same pucks as teslas???

I’m pretty sure they are different than tesla jack pucks. The Tesla frame is exposed in that area so the pucks really just help with alignment. On the Rivian, the puck is used to get to the frame through the small opening in the trim pieces. They looks very different.

I did a tire change over the weekend. I have one jack puck but I have decided to purchase an entire set.

I purchased one puck from Rivianstyle and they are currently back ordered. I will use it in the event I need to change a single tire. The Rivian Service Center in Houston will do a 4 tire rotation for $65. Now that I have a spare I will include in it my next rotation. I am a little apprehensive about taking it to a local shop even if I had 4 pucks I could provide them.

I purchased a set of pucks in case I need to visit a non-Rivian shop in a pinch.

The pucks are similar but still different to the ones needed for Tesla. I paid Rivian $60 to rotate my ?

If it’s a round pick small enough to fit through the opening with the round cover removed, a Tesla puck will work.

In addition to being too wide, Tesla pucks are too short for the Rivian.

Tesla pucks are NOT compatible! Order Rivian specific puck(s). I just got the EV Sportline ones. They are a little pricey but worth it.

Unfortunately, we as Beta tester owners need to be educated and be very careful about getting wrong advise from people and shops that are unfamiliar with our trucks.
