I'm sure the SOH number means more to rivian than it does us. I wouldn't put too much weight into it yet from our POV.

Alright probably, but I think it’s posts like this that give the masses awareness and access and allow them to play with it for a short period of time at least. The alternative is a very small group secretly knows how to access it and has it for a longer period of time. I didn't know this was there and how to access it and appreciate OP sharing.Next update it will be removed because of posts like this

You mean the random button that says scan to populate the screen. That is a read only screen gathering diagnostics, rescanning will not do anything.Please don't randomly hit buttons.....

Agree, but Rivian is also inviting questions on the motor temps by making them turn red. If they just let them display the normal color then no one would even notice, lol.Please for the love of god, nobody create any service tickets regarding the information they see in this menu.
This is an internal diagnostic tool that happens to have some interesting metrics for certain subsystems that Rivian doesn't natively display to the user.
If there is any chance they are going to keep this unchanged, we need to ensure nobody raises any tickets. Honestly, the fact that it is posted on the forum is probably already a death sentence for the functionality. Hopefully they are already too far along on .46 to add a change to this pin.
Already concerned they are going to remove motor temp reporting given the number of confused people that have posted threads regarding their "over heating motors".

Battery SOH (state of health?) is under which diagnostic? I'm trying to be really careful in these menus.Since the cats out of the bag for a moment anyway, anyone have less that 96% battery SOH?
Also only three things I ever used RiDE for were battery temps while charging, power requested vs power delivered, and battery SOH.
Beyond those, there's not much there the lamen needs or would find of use.
I feel the same way about things that are working especially while under warranty including SOH. However, if I had a service manual I would happily be spending this afternoon going through the troubleshooting decision tree to get my cameras working again rather than I guess just not having them working for the foreseeable future. Just like with an ICE car it depends on how complicated the repair would be. Even with a service manual I would not be swapping thousands of pounds of batteries myself but swapping or bypassing a camera? Sure.My Rivian engineer neighbor told me they had already been notified prior to the pin leak that access to RiDE would require a hardware connection for access. IE.. a field service laptop or connection at the SC for access. He assumed as early as the next update, but wasn't sure of the exact time frame.
Personally, I don't even want to know the SOH of our R1S. You know how much installing a water temp and oil pressure gauge in my Mustang cost me over the years? Starting at the age of 19, I probably installed three separate high performance engines... then I got into tuning with a wideband and that opened a separate can of worms. Sometimes, ignorance is bliss.
I'm 100% with you. The Rivian is the first car I haven't been able to or maybe just afraid to work on. Everything else has either been fixed, broken and then fixed again by me. Most of this sparked by interest and some of a side effect of being burned by the dealer. Even having to chalk my tires, because the dealer failed to do the tire rotation I paid for. I bet even if you shot yourself in the foot occasionally with your own repairs you felt you had the power to fix it? Probably rarely got stranded too? Probably could get it working enough to limp home? I guess my point, fwiw, is it is nice to have visibility and the ability to repair even if you mostly don't want to do it. Sometimes it might be preferable over waiting months on rivian or get you out a jam. Just gives you options. I agree with the comment in the github link early about the value of right to repair.
My truck has gone to service with most of the interior bed missing and they didn't say anything (in for a rear drivetrain issue). As long as whatever you are doing isn't a potential safety issue or causing the problem, I wouldn't worry about it. Service was also fine about my rock sliders but did mention if they needed to drop the battery, that they would have to charge me labor to remove them.The Rivian is the first car I haven't been able to or maybe just afraid to work on.
