I understand why a lot of Tesla drivers park every other spot, but it doesn’t matter with v3 and v4 sites, and the etiquette should change to better accommodate all vehicle types.
I'll have to be sure the Tesla Owners Club New York State (tocnys.org) shares info on charging etiquette with Tesla owners so they understand how to interact with non-Tesla owners at SCs so they don't come off as d***s.

Yeah, I understand that. I'm hoping the board will vote him out.
And since I (lightly) poked the hornets nest, I figure that I should note that while I am not going to buy products from Elon (unless I’m desperate for some electrons), I’m not out to advocate a boycott or to judge folks who, for lots of different reasons, do buy from Elon.

We don’t need yet another culture war. I have strong views but believe people on all sides of the political spectrum are mostly good. The more we can respectfully discuss things and argue civilly—and really try to understand one another, the better. One of the things I appreciate about this forum is the generally helpful and considerate tone, even when there is disagreement.

I’ll shut up now.

Here's my understanding, but happy to hear other thoughts:

For V3 Superchargers, you typically park in the spot to the right of the spot the charger was intended for, otherwise the cord won't reach. Be prepared to politely defend your position against entitled and uninformed Tesla owners.

For V4 Superchargers, which have longer cords, you might be able to park in the intended spot, thereby avoiding dramatic showdowns.
IMO, any Tesla owners who have a problem with it should:
  1. File their grievances with Tesla (through their app?). It's Tesla who agreed to open their existing network to other marques and other charging port configs. It's Tesla who did not design their network, from the get-go, with non-standardized universal charging in mind. We, non-Tesla owners, had no part in these decisions.
  2. Just STFU. Non-Tesla owners paying Tesla for charge is supporting Tesla's ability to continue to provide service and support to all Tesla owners. It helps to cement Tesla's ability to operate and survive the worst years (conditions that would do others in). They should thank us.
As long as I'm not parked diagonally, rendering more than two spots useless, IDGF.

Tesla v3 and v4 sites have up to 4 charging pedestals per cabinet. They are labeled 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, etc…

Best case scenario he chooses a successor steps down as CEO and focuses on X, SpaceX, Nuerolink and whatever other shit he has going on.
But he won't. Because he thinks he is limitless and can do it all and more. And of course he can. All he has to do is come up with brain farts. It's the people around him (and below them) that has to do the impossible and turn it into reality.

@ModelXer Most people will be completely reasonable and adjust. Some will be jerks. The jerks will be a mix of Tesla and non-Tesla drivers.

I was able to pull along side this one, still got dirty looks when people pulled into the space I was not using. ?

Interesting, as expected without internet connection in the Rivian, plug and charge did not work. I was able to initiate the charge with the Tesla app. Strange thing, even though I had to update the credit card in my Tesla Account (the one it had was expired) in order to start the charge, the receipt came from Rivian and no charges hit my card from Tesla.

Those of us accustomed to using CCS chargers understand that different vehicles have different charge port locations, and that the pedestals perhaps can't be 100% utilized when a mix of different vehicles are charging. We have lived with this fact ever since we got our vehicles. We adapt and negotiate when we encounter this situation - "you go before me because I can't use that spot", or "can we swap spots so that I can charge? The cable at this spot in the wrong place for my car."

On the other hand, Tesla drivers seem to consider a Tesla-branded supercharger as "theirs". They accuse you of "taking two spots", and they never seem to be able to see it from the opposite perspective - namely, a TESLA occupies two spots that RIVIANS could be using. (This is also true.) Tesla vehicles do not have exclusive rights to superchargers anymore - we're all on an equal footing.

Reminds me of that famous Orwell quote:
"All EVs are equal, but some EVs are more equal than others."

They wouldn't vote him out anyway, the stock would take a huge hit.

There got to be a good successor. We're past the startup phase and need to move on to continuing operations with expansion of models for the future. Small CUV/SUV; expand Semi line to various size straight chassis; mid-size van/wagon for commercial/recreational uses; M3/Y (MX?) specialty vehicles (stripped down for municipal/first responder units).

the average Tesla driver prob. Has no clue the storm that is brewing…

if you haven’t experienced it, you should watch 10 minutes sometime…there is at least 1-2 drivers per 20 minutes that can barely figure out how to back into the spots…one slightly unnerving thought is that Rivians will have to back out of the spots where sometimes there are pissed off ICE drivers flying around the Tesla tortoises…there can be no order where there was none to begin with…

Also, keep in mind that a half full Tesla charger is 100% full for us…will need to look for the least used chargers…but that is difficult since all the Teslas want the 250kwh chargers…

Whatever you do, avoid using a Tesla SC during holiday travel, it’s the worst possible time, add that to the list!

I've been using the Magic Dock in Batavia, NY for a few weeks now & actually got a "Thank You" from a Tesla driver as he was leaving today between snow storms (another 6" expected overnight) .
"Tarkus" needs her "Juice" daily...
