And the cost of Tesla provided juice can be more costly than the alternative, depending. Own both a Rivian and a Tesla. YOMV.

I had scheduled mobile service today to fix some loose window trim. The service tech ( in a white R1T with the gear tunnel storing equipment on the slide-out shuttle ) said that adapters would start shipping in May. He also advised against 3rd party adapters because of damage they can cause.

Whether there has been issues with 3rd party adapters or not, is it worth the risk of damaging the charging components and then having to pay out-of-pocket because a warranty claim could be rejected?

Right; my SC told me the same. When I posted that info in this forum, well, let's just say that information was not received well or believed) by the locals here.

Agreed, they could be and should be.
But will Tesla dedicate the resources necessary to accomplish that? Do they even WANT to allow 1 million CCS vehicles to immediately flood the Supercharger network? I don't know. I just want to caution people to reign in their expectations.
Reading the various threads, this message cannot be re-iterated enough. A few of us have mentioned it, but people seem to want to blame Rivian for something that *at present* seems beyond their control.

Got mine ordered. VIN# in the 26000’s. We’ll see how long it takes. Wish I had a clue, as I have an A2Z on order, probably shipping soon. Oh, well. If Rivian moves fast, I may have a spare for sale.

I’m a pre-3/22 reservation holder, but didn’t take delivery until 9/23. The email clearly states that adaptor deliveries will prioritize vehicle “delivery dates”.
I figure 6 months out or so, A2Z's are going to be readily available on the 2nd hand market ;-)

I did not feel the need it Elon chargers, outside of my trips to Canada. Canadian CCS charging is atrocious. Most top out at 50KW.
You don't live in Wisconsin clearly.
