I don’t know how systematic it is (my pack is fine so far) but when I was at the SC I saw several large crates and a gantry looking hoist? Crane? Thing. It's really not a big deal as long as it's not a systemic problem like the Bolt was. 7776 cells in the large pack, there's bound to be a few vehicles with bad cells.
I decided to ask..
“Are those battery packs?”
A: “Yes”
“Oh wow, they ship them separately for you to install it before delivery?”
A:”No”
Followed by some awkward silence. I didn’t count but if I had to guess maybe 5-6 crates. Assuming one pack per box.
Not great, but not terrible considering how many vehicles are on the road. A 1% failure would still be nearly 200 trucks.
