In my many experiences with loaner vehicles (9 times) I would say VINs above 12,000 (R1T) are much less noisy than VINs below. Unfortunately my VIN is early 7,000s and is noisy. But it is "within spec" according to the Normal SC. To be fair they did replace those front forward windows and helped some. Before that it was awful. My $25,000 Subaru Forester with the cvt is quieter.
When a repair tech says something is "within spec" get them to show you the spec and the test results.

My RIT has this disturbing wind noise from driver side at speeds above 50 mph .
3 separate service requests over 6 months ( because of time it takes to get an appointment and time to attend on the vehicle takes so long!). They report it’s been fixed on paper, but it still persists.
I am frustrated because they are not diagnosing and correcting it.
How do I proceed with next steps?
Were on the same boat with our R1S. This will be the second time were sending the car to the service center for excess wind noise. They said they fixed it the first time, but clearly they didnt. Anytime we go over 60mph, it's just wind noise all over the car. We have an upcoming appointment in December to get it fixed along with other issues that arise. Lets see!

Today the service manager called saying they found 2 glasses in front that needed replacing and also door adjustment. This is 4th attempt. He says it’s fixed and will check it himself before releasing it out. Apparently a special ops team was visiting Boston SC.
Waiting to see the results myself.
Hope this will be the last attempt.

Here's how I mostly fixed mine after service center replaced the seal(s) around the driver's triangle window. Seal replacement only marginally reduced the wind noise. The tech pointed to the location before repair so when I got the truck back and it still happened, I placed a piece of tape over the area and drove it above 70 through a notoriously windy area.

Take a look how how well the seal presses against your window. If it's weak, you'll get air ingress:

Mine still wasn't good and thought about how I could get it to press or seal more against the glass, so I bought some weather stripping from HD. One side is adhesive so I left the backing on it. Backing also provides rigidity to the foam which is needed here:

Cut a piece to length and pull out the seal:

The gaol is to insert the foam into that 3/8" wide channel in the seal. It won't go smoothly but with the assistance of a flat, non-marring tool, you should be able to get it in there. Took me several tries.

Keep pushing inwards and it disappears. It has worked pretty well for me. I was thinking of using 2 pieces of this foam, sandwiched with the backing in the middle since wind will still get through when it's particularly windy outside but it is 90% improved for me.
I did all sorts of door seals, roof and windshield lines, and what finally solved it was electrical tape on all the triangle window seals. I pulled them off one at a time and found it was THIS location with the noise. But I tried this, and no avail. I'm going back to taping just this seal and see what happens.

My vin is in the 7000's; I had the triangular front windows with an improved seal installed, which helped, I am getting persistent wind noise, especially at highway speeds right from the driver-side window, which sounds like it is open. Pushing on the window while driving modulates the noise, so I will try the cord foam inside the edge of the window seal. Fingers crossed.

Our service center was not able to resolve our R1S whistling problem. They resealed the windshield glass but the whistling persists.

After we brought it home, we experimented more and localized the air recirculation whistling sound to the plastic cowl/cover over the air intake. We removed the plastic and the sound stopped. We're guessing that the grille slats are causing the whistling.

We're not sure how we're going to resolve this because the plastic piece is necessary to keep plant debris from getting under the hood and the HVAC system.

I dropped off my R1 yesterday for some paint issues and the wind noise (2nd time). First time, they looked at it and said it was normal for a large SUV. I got a R1T loaner and it doesnt have the wind noise! My friend recently got his R1S and he has the same wind noise as I do on the passanger side. We took the loaner out and both agree that it doesnt have the wind noise. This is scientific and irrefutable (j/k) proof that there is someting wrong with some of these cars.
