Which trailer hitch would anyone recommend for towing a 17ft Boston Whaler with a single axle trailer for an R1S?

You’ll need the measure the trailer tongue height when level and the height of the hitch receiver at which ever towing suspension height you’ll use. Then it’s just simple math to figure out how much drop/rise you need.

I'd pull the ball mount of your current vehicle and try it in the Rivian, at that point it will be easy to determine the drop needed.

This was the last Whaler I owned... loved it, but the family wanted something with a bit more shelter.

I ordered a Weigh-Safe hitch after experiencing how it performed on my friends’s R1T towing my 17’ Alto. Smooth, quiet, and solid! It’s definitely overkill, but I still couldn’t resist.

@Monzarottie, do you remember what the drop is on the hitch in your photos? 3"?, 5"?
Thanks!

I'll bet you regret selling her.

Yeah, if I had the room, I never would have sold her.. I grew up on Boston Whalers and still love them. But, we also have a Jetski on a trailer to contend with so two fulls size boats and the Jetski was just too much. It can get pretty snotty on the LI Sound and in the end, we needed something larger with 2 kids, wife, dog and beach gear for the day. I ended up with a Grady 192 (20') which has been perfect for us.

I love my Gen Y Glyder hitch for towing my 21' boat on single axle trailer. I don't have a Rivian, just a 4Runner, but the hitch really helps to smooth out the road bumps.
