Wind depresses hood

Thanks! That's probably what my first visit read like. The second time they mentioned the epoxy and had to keep the truck over the weekend for curing. Nothing has actually helped yet.

That was the first time. BTW - mandate an entire hood replacement if they can't fix it the third time and express how ridiculous it is that you need to keep coming back in. I definitely let them know how ridiculous it is that they keep saying it's "fixed" but as soon as I drove off I could see it wasn't fixed.

I had the same hood depressed issue. It ended up being "bent hood hinges". SC replaced the hinges and sent the truck for paint to a body shop, which took 2 weeks. The bent hinges prevented the hood from sealing properly, creating a vacuum in the frunk area at speed. Seems to have fixed my issue.

Did you notice any excessive hood panel gaps because of this? Mine are pretty flush/even. Just asking for others to help troubleshoot their own issues vs SC as they don't seem to pay too close attention to details that seem to matter.

I didn't notice any panel gap issues at all. That's what was weird about it. The SC thought the hood came with bent hinges from the factory, they can't figure out how they would be bent after taking delivery.

It's all these return trips needed, due to service centers often nit solving issues for multiple attempts, that make that service center expansion need to happen asap.

Update to this --- after the "fix" of removing the adhesive it did solve the indentation at high speeds. But I noticed the alignment of the hood was now off and under highway speeds it now bounced more. I sent in a ticket a couple months ago but no appointments were available till October. A week before I was to go in I noticed a crease/dent starting to stick on on one side. Net result, truck has been with Rivian for a week as they're now replacing the whole hood and have to paint it. Hopefully a newer designed hood will finally solve this issue. TBD - stay tuned.

Trucks been at the SC since Oct 13th.... new hood received but apparently their paint and body location of choice can't paint the darn hood well enough to pass quality.... 3rd time's a charm right?

I had hood flutter (middle of hood moving up and down) when drafting a semi in very strong winds. I just had it in for service last week and they discovered the mastic adhesive that provides some rigidity had failed so they reapplied. I haven’t have similar conditions so haven’t been able to confirm it was fixed but glad they found and tried to resolve the issue.

Another update - still not fixed. Truck went in Oct 13th for a new hood, wasn't ready for pickup till end of November. When received the "new" paint job was horrendous, visible yellow overspray present, truck had hard water spots all over it that Rivian had to send out detailers twice to fix. Pretty shocked it sat for that long and nobody at Rivian looked at the completed work and went, "yup good to go". Another new hood was ordered and just went back into service last Friday, different body shop doing the work this time around. Fingers crossed its fixed for good. Previous experiences w/ SC were not spectacular but got the job done, this time i'm left really scratching my head.

My hood has some deflection but not any specific depression like that.

Are folks seeing this year-round or just in the winter? It might be seasonal depression.

I can finally say this issue has been fixed to completion. Repairs started Oct 13th, picked it up in perfect condition Jan 23rd. Just glad its all been rectified.

My whole hood is vibrating too at highway speeds, no visible depression but the whole hood is shaking. Wondering if something similar is going on. A loaner R1T i had dine exhibit this issue.
