Well we did it - 6 of us now upgraded to Apple Family, on my end to get Apple Music for our R1S. And boy does Apple Music suck (at least on the Rivian). Back to the (somewhat less sucky) Spotify.
I, too, have been asking for these for years. I would have thought that these additions would be easy for the programmers. These are simply things that are already in the system, just not where you can see them without going through several screens.
From all the negative posts lately, I guess you just have to purchase a Rivian.
I'm a former Apple Developer, yet I find Amazon Music is pretty flawless in my R1T.
I find it flawless now. Was pretty buggy for the first year of ownership but that's somewhat to be expected for a new company. I am having fun creating Dolby Atmos playlists on my phone and then telling Alexa to play them in my truck.
If you plug in an accessory like brake lights, the vehicle is forced into tow mode and loses all Driver+ safety features like emergency braking. There's no way to override it and tell the vehicle it's just a rear accessory, even in rear accessory mode.
For those of us that use a hitch bike rack with integral plug-in tail lights, it is frustrating that plugging in the bike rack disables all sensors. Many of us have been asking for a work-around option via OTA.
There is already is an alternative.

SiriusXM release has essentially become a running joke (much like CarPlay).
We tried the free Spotify to compare to Apple Music, which is awesome in Atmos on the Meridian system. Spotify is not just shit audio quality, but hard to use.
