Hi All,

As most of you know, the RAN (Rivian Adventure Network) was supposed to become a pay-to-use network starting in April/May. We're almost to August and it's still free (thank god).

I have asked Rivian if/when they plan on changing this, and they stated they haven't heard anything about it.

Does anyone else have an actual answer to this question?

I am praying they adopt Tesla's policy where the first owners were able to get lifetime charging for free and later buyers would have to pay.

It’d be nice if more RAN stations open. None in Vancouver / BC so far with no signs of one coming yet.

I just want one of the stations near me in MD to open up. Also why aren't they adding some in the Northeast?

Not seeing a point to your question. There’s so few of them it won’t make a big difference to most of us.

Not too concerned about this. They have to make owners pay and I expect it will be similar pricing to Tesla. No one gets free supercharging any longer (except the limited referral promotions) and if you do, it's because your Tesla is super old.

As others have said, there are so few RAN chargers, particularly in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast, that I am more likely to use a Tesla supercharger in 2024 with a "NACS" adapter for my Rivian than a RAN one. Not sure why they aren't building a lot more on the I-95 corridor.

Because their plan is to build them where there aren't many chargers which they seem to be doing for the most part. You can charge at EA, EVGo and Tesla soon at those populated areas.
