All got my T out of service and the noise is 85% improved. They replaced both front dampers with the “D” revision, performed FSA for knuckle bolts, and they even did the HVAC FSA as well.

the handling of the truck is quite a bit better as well. They did a 4 wheel alignment also.

Just came from a test drive on a Tri max - again. Same clatter noise (axle I think) present on gen1s. I have videos from inside the cabin.

Let’s listen to the vids! Where they be?

See link attached. I couldn’t attach this large a video in here.
Hmm. That sounds like the suspension squeaking to me. But maybe I’m isolating the wrong sound.

It’s hard to hear, also record while driving. I promise you, clunk is still there. Drove out in our gen1 and was identical.

That is definitely the classic half-shaft sound. Depending on road surface that actually sounds significantly worse than my G1-Quad....

Surprising as no reviews have mentioned it still be present so my assumption was Rivian had found a cure. Maybe this is just a "bad" one?

That is the remaining noise mine will make but almost never. Only big pavement imperfections typically while turning sharp with a unloaded suspension.

The amount of SC hours and $$ consumed by this issue makes me almost certain a replacement half-shaft will be released. It's just waaaaaay too noisy to continue to ignore.

I'm in Michigan and with the colder weather this issue is reduced, but those of you warm climate folks get zero break from it.

Do you have gen 1 or gen 2?

Original dampers or were they replaced?

G1. Dampers original. Half shafts replaced as well as subframe, upper lower control arms, and steering knuckles. 52k on it now.

Also, that tri-max I tried had the same PN rear dampers I have on our gen1 (rears are original). Just confirmed it. This trimax just came off of the assembly line. It does however, have the refreshed air springs like our gen1 (replacement gen2 has).

I am confident, we are looking at axle noise.

The front dampers are different on gen 2 though aren't they? I don't think the rear ones ever caused a problem.

You don't have half-shaft chatter? I didn't think there was a way to get rid of this.

They are. But they are retrofittable to G1. Our G1 quad has G2 front dampers and air springs. It’s a coil over setup, so it’s one assembly. Unlike the rear, it’s a separate air spring and damper. So in the rear, you could have G2 air springs, and G1 dampers.

What’s very curious is that they said the dampers were different in G2, however, I saw a Tri today (the one from my video) with the same PN as our G1 original rear dampers.

I just hear it on really big unloaded bumps...typically corners where driverside unloaded. Pretty rare in mine.
