I was referring to the other end which was what he was moving around on the video. The tulip CV going into the drive unit has some play. The stub shaft on the outer CV seems to be a clunking issue as well but I've never looked at the design. Usually there is no room for movement on the outer stub because there's a nut and cotter pin holding it tight. I don't know how rivian could have gotten this time tested design wrong.No, it's play in the half shaft—see previous posts in the thread—which is what Rivian's ting washer recall aimed to address (but not a permanent fix).
