I don't hear much news on icing issues lately and have not seen it myself.
Maybe the activists have made their peace with EVs or have found something better to hate on.
I assume mostly oblivious people at this point.

Yup, still happens. But like others have mentioned, other EVs taking up the spots and not charging are arguably a bigger culprit. When we drive to Orlando, we like to use the chargers near Disney Spring since we can juice up quickly while walking around and getting a bite to eat. They only have 4, and while the app would say 2-3 are available, they are usually taken up by some douche or two who are not charging. What is baffling is that they are not in primo parking spots either. We reported it to the law enforcement nearby and got a "nothing we can do about it" kind of response. If the "parking only for charging" signs are a suggestion, then yeah, as far as these people are concerned, they are doing nothing wrong. Strange decision to me for local municipalities, who I would think would salivate at the thought of handing out more parking tickets and increase their revenue.

Here in LA people literally park in the middle of the road and get out to deliver or pickup uber eats. It's getting to be tight like EU.

There's one Whole Foods in Scottsdale that is 100% ICED at all times. Except once. And I needed to charge my motorcycle, so I was glad I didn't have to park oddly to get to the charger.

Come out from shopping, and some asshole has parked in the same space with the bike, nearly against it.

I've considered printing informative windshield stickers. Yes, I would, no it's no unethical, but go ahead and bleat about all you want.

RAN in Holyoke MA was just iced yesterday - luckily it was the only car in the bank of changing spaces.

I do a lot of roadtripping and haven’t really noticed any serious L2 icing. But it have found it useful to carry an L2 extension cord for charging in campgrounds or other people’s homes. Mine cost about $180 for a 20-25 ft cord. and I believe it would help if I ever ran into an icing situation.

I have not noticed a DC fast charger iced of late (last year or two I’d say). L2 blocking by non-charging EV (nev’ing?) and ICE cars is still a thing. A year or two back I witnessed a lady in her suburban park diagonally across two spaces and effectively block both a handicap spot and an L2 charger. An hour later when I returned, her suburbasaurus was still parked that way…

Beside Icing, I quite often experiencing public L2 chargers been vandalised regularly by having their cable been cut short.

This is quite frustrating because you cannot rely too much on this type of service and you need to have enough charge to be able to search for another charger.

I wonder why public chargers in US don't require using your cable like in Europe?
