Funny, it didn’t feel that way to me at all. The Quad is still there and still awesome and they would have sold me that for the pre-order price which I think is awesome. I just went for the PDM max option because it’s even better for my particular (unusual) circumstances. (For most people, I would think large would be the better option.)Same. Exact. Feeling.
Take away 2 motors, some performance, and some warranty, but make us pay an extra $7k for what amounts to a pittance of kWh vs. what was originally promised? It just didn't/doesn't sit well with me. I would be keeping my big mouth shut if the battery was even half or 2/3's (23/30kwh) larger. But 11 for $7/10k?!?!?
And while I am now waiting on the refresh b/c I am in no rush, I wouldn’t have waited had they gotten me a PDM max by the end of Feb.
I respect your take on things, just wanted to pipe up to say I’m surprised it doesn’t sit well with you. When they initially jacked up the price on everyone, I thought, “Bummer. That awesome machine might be out of my price range now.” But I knew the deposit didn’t guarantee a price and it was refundable. I ended up delighted that Rivian decided to do us all a solid and honor the old price. I might end up a Rivian guy for life now.
