Rattles & Squeaks

I hear a rattle noise on the driver side when going over bumps. Hoping to get the suspension looked at next week.

Anybody have a rattle coming from their passenger seat. When driving alone? Especially prevalent over uneven surfaces. Of course service center said it’s normal.

Yep i have this. For me it’s pretty quiet. It happens if my passenger side wheels go over rough payment or a man hole. It’s quiet but it still bothers me a bit. And like you said i don’t notice it when i have a passenger. So to me it’s something with seat belt anchor area or passenger seat.

I now have three distinct rattles coming from the truck.

1. The passenger seat. First service appt they said they can’t replicate. Mobile service today noticed it and said he would tighten some bolts, but the shaking and rattling continues. Said he called the service center and this happens with other trucks too, so no fix.

2. Rattling somewhere in rear drivers door. Seems like something you would hear with a poor speaker, but sound continues when sound is off.

3. I now have a similar rattle coming from dash. Maybe the huge grill? Occurs when going over almost any bumps.

Anybody have similar rattles?

I’m very annoyed with these rattles And it’s diminishing the driving experience. I feel like im just constantly going to get the runaround. I still am unable to open gear tunnel
Doors from home screen despite them having worked on it twice. This is all very frustrating. Maybe ill try a different service center next time.

? I do admire your attitude. I understand growing pains and all, but it scares me to think what truck will sound like tin 1 year…two years… etc

Lol. True. I honestly hope I’m able to keep it long enough to find out. But…hopefully OCD doesn’t win…such a battle.

I have similar rattles in the dash. Trying to live with it as the SC told me this is "as quiet as we're going to get it"... I've even had the dash pad replaced for a different issue and same rattle is present on rough roads and sharp bumps.

OCD paired with an EV is a real conundrum.

Any time ive had rattles in other vehicles, namely Lexus and Tesla.. I ended up having to find out how to take apart a certain segment to help figure out what the problem was. Service centers in my experience have never been helpful about this. Hopefully more automotive inclined YouTubers will continue to put out great videos on how to take panels etc off. It seems like early Rivian builds were ultra quiet, are just new models having more issues with rattles etc?

I had a LE loaner and dash rattle was very bad.

Mines #3600 range…so not sure if that’s true

Absolutely agree. Waiting for tutorials to come out so I can deal with it myself.

I fully disassembled the interior of my 2017 Tacoma Pro over the years. After much felt tape and sound deadening material, thing was as quiet as a Lexus.

I found a solution: just turn up the radio and forget about it. Works great unless youre trying to enjoy a quiet, peaceful drive.
