Something is wrong for sure. I found with my R1T the compression dampening is lower allowing bumps to be soaked up while the rebound dampening is higher to stop violent return and pogoing.
Agree. It is amazing how much better it is now on my early build R1T.

ok. I have a hard reset happening now. Will give it a bit or time. We have some rough roads just outside out neighborhood and man did it suck! But let's hope. (I was so totally happy with teh previous suspension tuning!)
What suspension height are you using? I have always found the suspension to be harsh. Even with the update, but it’s a truck. Also I adjust ride height to the road conditions.

I have an early Gen1 T and a lye Gen1 S and both vehicles are MUCH improved after 19.04. In fact, I was seriously considering posting a message to Rivian engineering to stop the tweaks because 19.04 has hit the mark.
I agree and was thinking the same thing!

Mine didn't have much for noticeable ride quality improvement (I was happy with it previously), but now there is noticeable audible clunks on acceleration/deceleration and some bumps that weren't there before. I've already done a full reboot of the truck as I always do post-upgrades, but perhaps I'll do another and full cycle of the suspension height.

It's so apparent that I suspected I had a broken suspension arm pivot bolt or bushing somewhere.

Those complaining of degradation should do hard reset before assuming the update is bad. ALWAYS make reset your go-to procedure to rule out software/cache glitch. When to use soft or hard reset depends on situation. Soft reset is also know as infotainment reset. Own a computer, smartphone or tablet? How they act up from time to time and need to be rebooted to reset? Same idea.

The ride on my R1T (DM Large) is gone from great to awful with the 19.04 update. It is like it is stuck in firm. Every bump (even small freeway bumps!) are transmitted through the vehicle and on poorly paved roads it is as crappy a my much-hated old Silverado. Is anyone else having the same experience? I am going to ask Rivian to revert to the previous software, it is just that bad.

my R1S quad have the same problem indipendent of OTA version !!!!! i have an appointment . the problem is a little better on low setting and firm ….. so for me is hardware not software !!!! also some noise similar of shaking and water moving ! hope they can solve it ! no normal driving and have all this reaction on perfect road !

I have my service visit set for tomorrow (previously scheduled for an alignment issue). They think something else must be wrong that coincides with the update. We will see. I did also note that we are getting rough engagement of the rear motor. It started getting a noticeable bump when the motor engaged on the freeway, and yesterday it felt like the rear end was slipping on gravel as we pulled out of the parking space at the Costco!

Will update once I learn something from service. Hopefully the gremlins show up while the tech is in the vehicle during the test drive...

Update: it is in service and will be there for a bit. They are fixing an alignment problem and investigating a problem where the rear motor engagement is very rough at times. The truck drove fine on the test drive (of course) but it looks like there may be an unrelated drivetrain/suspension problem. Will know more by Friday or so.

Meanwhile I have a quad motor R1T with 20" wheels running on three-version-old software as a loaner. I now retract, retract I say!, any complaints about the ride quality in my DM running on 21s on the latest software build.

As my high school statistics teacher said so often: correlation is not causation. I have a bad rear drive motor. It is getting replaced. The software update was just a coincidence. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
