I've got about 400 miles before I hit the 60,000 mile warranty limit on my 2022 (early delivery) R1S launch edition. When I bring it in for service I want to get the service center to take a close look at areas that may require attention before the warranty expires. Reaching out to you long timers to see what the most common issues have been for you. Thanks in advance.

My name is Mike, and I have a (car) problem
Depends on what you've experienced to date.

Dampers, jounce lines, various wiggly/rattley bits, 12V ... the list could be long, but if you're not experiencing any issues, then you should be good.

Talked to the service center (Chelsea) about checking out my R1S for issues before warranty is up. They said that is no longer free. They charge ~$250 for a comprehensive inspection, but anything they find wrong that is not wear (ex: brakes) they will replace under warranty.

There’’s an 60k normal inspection due anyway. Old dampers have been upgraded and need addressed and upgraded to the new, improved ones. The tip off is a “looseness” in the front end when going over rough pavement. My 59k early T is in line for the replacement.

I have mine in for air suspension leak and they are replacing the jounce lines with newer version while in there. Im also near my 60k end of warranty. I had noticed the front right would sag after it sat for several days. Glad I took it in before end of warranty. They also found another leak in the rear and fixed my horn.

Yes I was told that if I wanted an inspection it cost $250 so I went ahead and did that in the hopes that they will catch anything that I don't flag.

I went in recently and got my seasonal tire changeover done at Les Schwab and they told me that they saw leaks on both front shocks. Not sure if it's the same issue you described but I flagged this for them.

Is this an 'automatic' repair that they are doing for all vehicles or do you have to flag it for them? Keep in mind I have an R1S not and R1T but I know mechanically they should be identical at least in this area.

Rear touch screen, driveshafts, shocks. I had these issues.

Also check if all vents are working and moving. Same with speakers, LED lights inside and out. I didn't have issues with any of these, but worth checking.

I had my 2023 R1S Gen1 60K miles service done on March 20, 2026. I paid the $230 for a comprehensive inspection.

Front and rear dampers replaced free.

Steering wheel replaced due to peeling free.

Rear door seals replaced free.

Inspection found that brake fluid did not need changing.

Currently at ~63K miles and confident that I'm solid for another 3 years.

Out of curiosity did you buy an extended warranty? After seeing how much some of these repairs cost I'm considering it.

I thought about an extended warranty but chose not to get one.

Being 100% transparent, I did all the off-roading, Launch mode and, adjusted the ride height to high when in all-purpose mode and in slow traffic (below 45mph).

I assumed my actions contributed to the wear and tear. Now that everything was replaced and I'm more familiar with the vehicle I do not forsee those parts being replaced in 3 years.

I'm also looking forward to my R2 Borealis addition to the stable.

Had my full inspection at 58K and Rivian replaced dampers, two control arms, and a few other things under warranty. I’m at 70K now and love the truck, but I wouldn’t keep it without XCare. I bought it and posted my experience , which was great.
