I have a Dual motor R1T. I really love the yellow accents throughout the truck, especially on Limestone as it's a muted color. If I install the black/yellow exterior badging on my dual motor am I a fraud? Will you all roast and shun me? I need to know. :D

Yes. You do you though, up-badging is a thing.

I would say you're fine. They are very aesthetically impactful without explicitly screaming "QUAD MOTOR HERE!!!"

It's not like you're putting a "V8" badge on a V-6 mustang or an "M3" on your 320i

You are assuming I would even notice. I’m just going to see a Rivian R1T.

I can't stop you or try to convince you otherwise.

All I can ask is that you spend the $8,000 Quad Motor upgrade cost and $9,100 for large battery cost towards 1,500+ $RIVN shares to appease the RIVIAN GODS or they might not take kindly to your modifications.

Is it up badging because the color is different than OEM? I was initially thinking the same, but maybe it's ok.

My wife knows and my 3 year old son knows too. :p

Although my son sees the brake calipers more than the emblems.

People driving BMW that put on M badges, V badges for Cadillac, Plaid for Tesla, etc.

Really interested to find out what Rivian will be doing for their "Premium" trim though. Yellow badging probably won't really matter.

How did they find out?

Because you informed them? If so, perhaps that's the reason why they look and take notice.

Vast majority of people just see Rivian logo or don't even notice that its a Rivian.
