The box is a very elegant solution to the problem!

If anyone is interested in a more redneck solution, I duct taped T20 and T25 keys to the inside of the hitch cover. Just enough to open the frunk so I have access to my jump box and the rest of my tools.

ICE only :(
I see. I thought I had seen where people were able to jump from the trailer hitch from a portable jump starter, but maybe it was jus to get the doors and funk open.
It can be jumped from a portable jump starter, but the jump box has to be capable of sustained 12-15V 30amp output if it is going to fully "jump" the car into booting up the whole software stack and starting to charge the 12V battery off of the high-voltage pack. A shorter jump does seem to facilitate opening the frunk and/or unlocking the doors.

Thank you for posting this. I've been meaning to solve this problem for a while. This is such a design miss on Rivian's part.

Long time viewer of this forum but first time posting! I saw people wanting a place to store accessible tools to get the the manual frunk release in the event of a dead 12v battery (or 2), so I created this box. I am happy to share the STL file with anyone with a 3D Printer. The box can be extended another inch if needed, but I wanted to make sure it didn't protrude past the rear opening of the hitch receiver. Obviously it isn't water proof so for now, I just have my tools in a plastic bag. Hope this helps!

Replying to my own post here... I uploaded the STL file for the large box to CraftCloud.com, selected PETG as the material type, and it is being printed by a company in Florida, for $29. There were cheaper options. Should be here within a week. Took me all of 10 minutes. My first experience with 3D printed anything.

Considering the lockable HitchSafe was like $70, and had half the space, I was okay with the price. I don't plan on putting anything valuable in it.

Do not get me wrong, the price you find is excellent.
I am just hooked on his DT color stuff. I got the keyfob sorround in that color and was trying to hint:angel:that he should offer the same for this part as well.
